'won' a copy of this through librarything from Sieders back August 28, never got ebook copy nor physical copy, and not on ku so even if I would bother can't because definitely not buying it -- really, Sep, Oct, Nov, and it's now the 3rd of Dec....forget it
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Not kindle unlimited, pretty sure got it as one of my here's a free book, no strings, but really hope you find the time to read and review it things.
No idea of the genre, very odd space opera, maybe; .Doctor Who on acid? {Thus begins an existential romp across space and time, trampling on Barnabus' assumptions.}
Too much going on in the book to pick any one thing or event, and don't like risking spoilers anyway. Liked it but didn't luv it, BUT NOT saying it was bad, just not totally my type or maybe the mood, but seemed as if in places it dragged a bit {although that could just be because have to use a vocal reader}.
reviewed back in july but because of delay getting book for some reason and this site got lost in the shuffle, having to go through all of them AGAIN to see what's still messed up

Read the blurb for the basis premise. It's really hard to review a book such as this because am always trying to make sure spoiler free. It was something I could see happening, in several different ways for several different reasons. It is definitely a must read. If you are religious, if you are not religious, if you are political or apolitical, or even in to a bit of possible sci-fi, yes it has many different elements to the whole story. Not surprised by many books; as much as I read, and as many genres, that is REALLY hard to do, to put it mildly.
I actually saw this book's premise on LibraryThing, and have cut back to a great degree on asking for review books; saw this one and had to ask. So yes, one of my here's a free book, we really hope you like it and review it 'things'.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Not Kindle Unlimited, not freebie day thing either, one of my here's a free no strings book but it would be really nice if you reviewed it when you were done {yeah do those now and then still, pretty sure this one was via librarything}. Was going to go with a 4, mostly based on my horror 'eh whatever' factor, as didn't realize that that was the basic genre, so don't go by that if you are looking for a horror book, on that basis you'd probably like it, so based on IF I liked horror in general or whatever, would say it's a 5, mostly because at least for the most part it wasn't same old {a little bit yeah but not overall}. *note: this IS available, as it shows, on kindle, BUT there is NO listing on goodreads for the kindle version, just paperback
What he saw inside the coffin was not his uncle’s sleeping form laid atop white silk padding. Instead, what he saw was darkness more profound than any he’d ever before seen.”When Andy Gresham’s son Dylan is abducted from his bed on Halloween night, he realizes that history has caught up with him. Memories he’d buried long ago begin to surface, and he is forced to share with his wife the story of Halloween night in 1991. His secret history is a strange tale of a confrontation with a supernatural entity that left two of Andy’s friends dead and one institutionalized. And this secret history just might hold the key to rescuing Andy’s child. With his mentally unstable friend Ben at his side, Andy sets off on a mission to show more rescue Dylan and do battle one more time with a demon that stole their childhoods. The time has come for Andy to face the dark. show less

The Serial Killer Books: 15 Famous Serial Killers True Crime Stories That Shocked The World (The Serial Killer Files) {What I said about that one} This book collection was very informative and very gross; I will have to let my kid read it, as he is all in to serial killers, including Dexter yes, but the even deadlier real ones. Oh, and by 'kid' I mean my kid, he's grown now, so js. Noticed the writer's amazon list of books; there are lots of grossly interesting books and sets in there. Not to slight this collection, in which this also lots of grossly interesting stories, so buckle in and keep hold of the barf bag if you don't have a strong stomach.
The Big Book of Serial KillersL 150 Serial Killer Files of the World's Worst Murderers {An Encylopedia of Serial Killers -- A-Z encyclopedia of 150 serial killers, men and women, covering the countries of the globe. Each killer's files has such information as when and how they killed, their background or the suspects in certain cases, the trials and punishments, some quotes by the killers. *NOT suggested for those with weak constitutions/stomachs/nerves or night reading.

A Cold Wind Blows
The huge biodomes in southwest Marineris supply Mars with food. Landing a job there is a dream come true for Kimberly Gooding, whose ultimate goal is to save enough money to emigrate to Earth. When she's called on to do some work outside the domes an urban legend about the ghost of a dead commander gives her pause. The conflict between her rational mind and some baser instincts takes centre stage, and her trust in her workmates is called into question. Is the problem lurking somewhere outside the domes or is it buried deep in Kimberly's subconscious?

See the Worlds
Joining the army is simply a way out for a young person from the backwaters of the USAN, and landing a plumb posting at the garrison on Mars seems to be the icing on the cake. However, the trip of a lifetime coincides with the Martian bid for independence. As the cushy posting turns into something far more harrowing our narrator reflects on the events that took him to Mars and casts a fearful eye on what the future might hold.

n 2241 the dominant superpower on Earth, the USAN, successfully concludes the fourth world war. The nation breathes a sigh of relief and looks forward to the resumption of elections.Across the solar system the leading industrialist in the USAN’s small colony on Mars is thinking about independence. When the Martian population votes in favour Mars secedes from the union. It seems to be a fait accompli until it’s suggested that a massive dropship carrying spacecraft, Ephialtes, built to patrol the Earth, could be refitted for interplanetary spaceflight. Maybe the USAN could use its military might to persuade the colonists to reconsider. With an enormous instrument war of heading toward them the Martians resolve to defend their independence. Limited resources force them to rely on wit and ingenuity as they prepare their defences. Can they prevail against the mighty Ephialtes? Political intrigue, heart-pounding action and page-turning drama abound in this gripping opening to the Ephialtes Trilogy.

Why Am I So Clever?
Dr Daniel Kostovich, head of R&D at Venkdt Mars Corp and Special Adviser to the MSS, has always been a smart cookie. When he starts speculating on the provenance of his abilities he finds more questions than answers. As various possible solutions come and go Kostovich works on the pressing issues facing Mars - food production, defence equipment, and the unresolved conflict with the USAN. Is the ultimate answer to his question unknowable and, given the storm clouds gathering on the horizon, shouldn't his undivided attention be elsewhere?

Son of New York
The USAN isn't the place it used to be. The Martian deuterium embargo is causing huge economic damage, and the public is restive. Student Adam Wilson believes in his country but is reluctant to voice his feelings in light of the burgeoning protest movement's belligerent attitude.Following his own brush with authority Adam has to reassess his show more beliefs. Could it be that their once great president has stepped over the line? With a huge schism looming Adam is going to have to pick a side, but in a world filled with uncertainty it will be no easy choice.

The Ephialtes Trilogy chronicles the conflict between Earth and Mars, triggered by Mars' secession from the USAN in the aftermath of World War IV. The stories of The Ephialtes Shorts Collection make up the connective tissue between books one and two of the trilogy. The collection comprises all four previously released shorts together with the exclusive Ephialtes Short V: Why Am I So Clever?
Ephialtes (Ephialtes Trilogy Book 1)
The Ephialtes Shorts look back to the first book of the trilogy and forward to the second
See the Worlds (Ephialtes Shorts #1)- A Cold Wind Blows (Ephialtes Shorts #2)- Son of New York (Ephialtes Shorts #3)- Be All You Can Be (Ephialtes Shorts #4)
Book two of the Ephialtes Trilogy will be released autumn 2017. show less
This book is more in the way of essays or even a long blog, well if the same subect was expanded on each {as my blog used to be}. It talks about vanity blows, cosmological by Copernicus who showed that we were not at the center of the universe, biological Darwin who showed that we were just one small branch of the evolutionary tree of life, and psychological by Freud who showed that the unconscious mind had a far greater influence on us than we had ever thought possible, and the book proposes a fourth exposed by the inquiry into what makes us feel and think and act the way we do and how much our heredity and environmental experiences influence our behavior and that perhaps we are not quite as in charge of our destinies as we thought we were in that most of us think we learn from our experiences but perhaps we can do so only retrospectively and that this process is less about learning than conditioning.
It can be rather dry reading, but it does have indexes and links to farious things if someone felt the need for further clarification in different ways. This book is not available in kindle unlimited, and pretty sure I got it through one of my free book sites, as in librarything which is one of the really we give you a book and really hope you review it type ones, etcetera as in just free book, own free will and all my own opinions etcetera.
*apologies to this site and the writer, I did already read and review back early June just forgot to post it here after doing amazon show more and goodreads, laptop going out and having to be replaced will scramble your brains show less

The Big Book of Serial Killers: 150 Serial Killer Files of the World's Worst Murderers (An Encyclopedia of Serial Killers) by Jack Rosewood
Kindle Unlimited though got it on a freebie day, when got a heads up from the writer. Pretty sure I agreed to read this for possible review on LibraryThing.

Kindle Unlimited, but if you use the link on goodreads if they don't/haven't fixed it, it will go to an error page so just look up the writer on amazon. I actually got this as one of my here's a free book we really hope you review it things {all my own opinions, nothing other than free book, etc} from librarything.
The Setup: It is 2072. Pollution and preemptive nuclear strikes have rendered Earth uninhabitable. Individual countries no longer exist. Earth is now governed by a World Order of Leaders that dispatches a team of six young scientists, led by a former Marine, to establish a base for future inhabitation on a planet with the highest Earth Simulation Index. Upon landing, Zeta, the group's chemist, discovers they have been double-crossed by Captain Reynard who, before dismantling the communications system, diverted the flight to another planet and reported back that the team did not survive the voyage. Then one of the team disappears and the others take Reynard prisoner until they can return him to Earth. But while preparing for departure they encounter the alien species that captured their teammate, and find themselves entangled in a space exploration mystery that has persisted for over two centuries. But as they prepare for departure they encounter the alien species that captured their teammate, and find themselves in the presence of the Lost Cosmonauts of the Soviet Space Program, the space exploration mystery that has persisted for over a century. Will the team show more be able to return to earth in time to save the remaining population? Or will they be stranded for eternity with the three immortals who won the space race of the 1950s?
It started out seeming to me to be like the Lost in Space type story, which it is, sort of, but not really, so was an interesting read, sort of a cross between that story and the Star Trek one with the God but with more so was definitely worth the read. No spoiler review so read the story already. show less

This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways.
The first one was free so maybe permafree, the others are NOT kindle unlimited. The prequel/0 starts with background to the following stories {see below for list to date} and the 5 'complete' set does NOT include the prequel though it can be gotten on amazon for free. I received the 5 set from the writer via LibraryThing, yes another of my here's a free book/set, we really would like you to review it, we aren't paying anything but hey free book/s and not even on KU. THIS ONE ALSO LISTED AS THE COMPLETE BOOK OF NEVER as ebook
Adventures, magic, rogues and rakes and relics, blood curses, and a map to a sunken city, and sarcasm. That is just the start to the following fantasy books. Follow if you can....
Never {prequel]: The Ember Isle
The Amber Isle 1 - A Forest of Eyes 2 - River God 3
Book of Never: Volumes 1-3
The Peaks of Autumn 4 - Imperial Towers 5
Book of Never: Volumes 4-5 (Book of Never, #4-5)
The Book of Never: Volumes 1-5
Also available individually of course.
I got the 5 book set, which says complete but you can get the 0/prequel free from amazon. Spliler free book tidbits for each book below.
#0 .. follow if you can
#1 .. White Wing, and the boy doesn't swim well
#2.. chased to port can he make travel further, find more treasures and artifacts, whose luck?
#3..rolling the dice, runes, secret chambers, The Master, underground rooms, kings and princes
#4.Iron Pass, King's Road, Prince Tendov, Black Ember, stone wraiths, World Stair, brotherly love?
#5..the past, the present, show more the Bleak man, brothers forever, sisterly love?
It almost reminded me a bit of Harry Potter, and not in the magic part, in the way that each book got longer and longer and longer, and not sure to what point, and why hint at a sequel at the end of a 5 set called complete {and which doesn't mention the prequel/0}?
Again, got this as the 5 set, from lt, but nowhere to put it so putting it on all books that are in listed. {Obviously lt glitch as they are all pulling up now} show less

Kindle Unlimited, but got this as a freebie from the writer through LibraryThing, and here goes the usual insert free book for possible review of own free well etc etc.
Tried to ignore the formatting issues, since didn't notice it as much as would if physically reading it {use kindle for pc with audio plug in}, but the formatting problems did cause what I call 'stuttering' i.e. gaps and pauses in the reading because of all that as well as when just glancing over it was double spaced and odd numbers here and there for no discernible reason. It had a lot of side issues, such as too many unnecessary characters and events going on, that subtracted form the story not added, and made it rather muddled in places. As it was what I call 'brit lit' didn't overly matter to me that there were terms I didn't understand, but the back and forth with the suspect was more than a bit odd {and yes, I read and watch a LOT of CSI, Marple, Poirot, Ms Fisher, etcetera} so shouldn't have had my mind wandering but did. Interesting story, but definitely needs tightening up some. No idea what someone unused to 'Briticisms' would think about all this.
The 3 star is to match the rating on amazon us and uk; not even going to try to figure out if should be different on goodreads.

Not kindle unlimited, not showing ebook at all though sent with selection of pdf or the other not mobi, but got it through librarything for possible review back in April, and because of finding this buried in email have spent all day clearing out my email. My apologies and then some for the delay.
This is a compilation or anthology or collection or whatever. The use of / to separate parts was distracting, not sure if that was because of the format or what, and couldn't find the rhythms to the poems at all in the first part. The second part {it all is somewhat divided in a way} was a bit better, more 'regular' style and no / so was easier to find some kind of rhythm, not any could live without but interesting even though some of the words weren't really quite in context of how normally used, and again the page format threw me off when the page ended but the poem hadn't. Assume that is not an issue in a non ebook format. The rhythmic 'difference' the writer is noted for definitely throws me off. The 3 stars is to match amazon's 3.
Suggestion: Buy in non ebook format, like poetry, really like poetry, not mind if there are totally made up words or actual words put together that don't normally go together. Be okay with 'rhythmically different', it kept throwing me off.

Not kindle unlimited, but is available on that and other formats, and actually got it through LibraryThing writer for possible review with the name Vadim Zubakhin not Enni Saarinen attached to email but maybe co writers. As an FYI to writers who send out books this way, using google drive, please be advised that this no longer works for files sent to a yahoo account who evidently have gotten 'techy', even if the same email is used and linked with the associated/same username gmail account so it would be google. Also had this one by Valentino Armani, and possibly more by him or the others but working through a book at a time. {Had went to one that was Miku Ono but this one is once again Valentino Armani}
Don't know a lot of Italian, most of what I do know is not considered 'nice' words, but although the German doesn't help in this case, the French and Spanish do. The main problem I had was that while I know more than basic German, I don't know a lot, and know next to no Italian so trying to listen to the Italian but reading the German and trying to translate in my head, eh, wouldn't have worked at all if it had not been pretty much one of the stories had read already in English, probably the Italian to English story one earlier by this author. It once again used Adobe Acrobat Reader DC did add audio. The pdf has embedded audio tracks so the reader gets the usual audio, dual translations/stories and vocabulary. Did enjoy it, just harder to get in to than the previous ones show more and the stories were harder as in more adult versus kids, animals, etcetera, plus of course not knowing one of the languages and only somewhat the other one although did use the same stores pretty much as before so that wasn't lost quite as much.
If anyone knows how to get this to be reviewable on librarything, lmk, shows book won't pull to allow review. {it may have this time, but still not coming up with Erste Italienische Fragen und Antworten für Anfänger: Stufen A1 und A2 zweisprachig mit italienisch-deutscher Übersetzung (Gestufte Italienische Lesebücher 5) (German Edition), which is close to same review except it does nave vocabulary not story oriented} show less

Now Czech is one of the Slavic languages, and from what little have heard of that language {have a cassette tape for learning the language} is is not like German, French, Spanish, American/British or anything else have studied, so perhaps somewhat like Russian which know next to nothing about. This story was easier for me to follow because at least some of the stories were the same as was used in one of the other books, so was able to spend more time actually looking at the non-English side when it was being read. There is the audio with that type file, and vocabulary and all with the stories. As with one or 2 of the other stories, the translations for the English really needed an English speaking person or someone able to do both, as some was a bit odd or off.

Don't know a lot of Italian, most of what I do know is not considered 'nice' words, but although the German doesn't help in this case, the French and Spanish do. This needed someone a bit more used to English idiomatic and other speech, which doesn't mean necessarily American because we tend to butcher the Queen's English like crazy, but the English translations to the story were actually harder to figure out meaning than the Italian {because could somewhat read it with knowing the Spanish and French}. It was odd stories, but using the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC did add audio. The pdf is actually labeled Second Italian Reader but seems to actually be First Italian Reader for beginners Volume 2 {bilingual for speakers of English, with embedded audio tracks} and the reader gets the usual audio, dual translations/stories and vocabulary}. Did enjoy it, just show more harder to get in to than the previous ones and the stories were harder as in more adult versus kids, animals, etcetera. show less

Kindle Unlimited but got it through Ravenswood, some sort of review place though LibraryThing, hey free and since read so much yes free is good, although some that have sent me things to review were probably hoping for more of this regarding star ratings, but oh well, there is {to me} the 1 hate it 2 meh 3 ok 4 not major but enough total that just wasn't getting a 5, then 5 doesn't really mean to me luved it, means really liked it and it still may have had minor issues, such as where 's was used and was either confusing the meaning of the sentence or else was said as if to indicate ownership which wouldn't have been correct, but overall minor so didn't want to take a whole star off for that, just mention it. Some of the illustrations, while nice, did make me wonder why those particular ones used, because seemed a bit out of context or something, but they were nice.
Kindle Unlimited but received it from Ravenswood Review, and no not the tv show, through LibraryThing. Must have requested this story because of the lucid dreaming and other related aspect of it. It was an interesting story, but as is also usual with time traveling and other such stories it can become very non-linear and more than a little bit confusing. Add in a romantic interests and quite a few different characters, past and present, and and it can be very confusing for someone such as me that is horrible at names. Overall it was still interesting, just not 'love it' interesting to me. Assume there is more to come, a series of ? #, as of course the title says book 1.
Kindle Unlimited, because neither the kindle for pc nor the kindle cloud would pull the book up, so had to use kindle unlimited to pull it for viewing, but originally got the book via librarything for possible review insert blah blah disclaimer here about free will, but anyway...the following is one in particular reference to the repeated unneeded/unnecessary pretentious use of 'N instead of And, 'n it makes no sense to use that, by the way; also, if I wanted to find God in poetry, it wouldn't be in this book, nor any book can think off off hand {and have been reading since I was 3 years old}.
