It's difficult for me to give an accurate description of the Long Earth series, simply because I have contradicting thoughts whenever I think about it. Most of the criticisms you will read in some other reviews are valid; the plot is on the light side, the book titles are definitely misleading, sometimes you even feel nothing much is going on. But (you knew there was a but coming) - I've come to care about the characters. The world in general. I want to see what happens, I want to know how Joshua and the gang are going about their lives. It's almost like when I pick up a new Long Earth series book, I get to converse with them, see what happened the year we were apart. It's a strange feeling that I hadn't had with many books; if any, and it's the reason I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

As far as Long Mars is concerned, it's better than the Long War, so hopefully the next two installments will keep it up.
Brilliant. Simply Brilliant (yes, with a capital B). Sanderson continues to amaze, continues to put out amazing stuff, and we can't get enough. If you are fascinated by the Cosmere, look nowhere else; this is the novella to read. Make sure you read it after the original Mistborn trilogy though, it contains huge spoilers; plus if you read the original trilogy quite a while ago like I did, you'll revisit the world fondly.

I picked it up after Bands of Mourning and I devoured it in one go. A must-read. Better yet, read it more than once. Because... you know... there's always another secret.
Now that's what I call a don't-want-to-put-down book. One down, more than 15 to go since I am a bit late to the party ^_^
As others have said, it starts slowly, but the pace picks up considerably in the second half of the book.

A must read if you liked the first one; solid world building as always. I only wish people would just let Titus finish one of his stories, guess that was never meant to be, heh.
A great sequel to a very promising and exciting first book. The pace picked up considerably after approximately 30-40% of the book, and it ends with a cliffhanger; which kind of sucks to be honest. But the world is terrific and you won't get bored. 4.5 stars.
One of the best books I've read this year, and one that definitely needs a second read at some point.
It was a good read, the story was solid enough but there were some things that bothered me: given that the heroes were from normal backgrounds, they just seem superhuman at times, making all the right choices and planning ahead with excellent precision and failsafes. Oh, and the grand reveal of the villain and his true intentions? Well, can't say I am a fan, felt a bit cheap. A good page-turner regardless.
5 αστέρια κάθονταν, και περίμεναν να τα πατήσω.
This is the first book of the series that I didn't give 5 stars. It was also one of the most difficult books I've ever had to read. Combine that with an insane amount of POVs, and you begin to realise my predicament here. The book is dark, as other have said. Too dark at times, to the point that it feels PB is actively trying new things for them to suffer. On purpose.

I don't mind long reads, far from it. But this could have easily been two books, it's that dense. I will be coming back because I am too invested in the characters but I really hope #6 flows better.
One of the best thought-provoking, mind blowing sci-fi novels I've ever read.
Same story, same twists, different protagonists. A solid 2.5.
I love Murderbot as much as the next guy, but this story was padded beyond belief.
Well, it picked up considerably in the second half; it's a solid 3.5 stars in my opinion. Enjoyable, but won't blow you away or anything.
Well to be honest I wasn't thrilled by it; 4/10 at best. It was the first book in ages that actually felt a chore to finish, and unfortunately I have a thing about finishing the books I start. I read this one after reading his excellent Frozen Sky novels, so you can imagine how disappointed I was - the plot is full of holes and too far fetched for my own liking. I couldn't even share a connection with the main characters - stuff kept on happening but I couldn't care less. This may sound harsh but I was really disappointed by this because the premises of the novel were there. It was the execution that was lacking.
First 40% of the book: 3.
Last 60% of the book: solid 5.

4+
Sparks, what a conclusion to the series! How about a new trilogy Brandon?
Finished reading it a few seconds ago, and I believe I can summarize my experience with one small word. Wow. Easily the best read I had this year - I really don't know where to start and where to finish. A true must-read.
It's like he didn't even try with this one...
