Must reading. This novel is more poignant and meaningful today than ever before. The author has skillfully embroidered a compelling story told in the personna of a 14 year old girl running away from an abusive father with social issues of race and of spirituality. And throughout the book, the story parallels the dynamics of beekeeping. I've read it twice and will probably read it again.
