As a post apocalyptic novel, DeStefano does an excellent job of surrounding the reader with descriptions of the current state of the world. In her novel, Wither, DeStefano introduces a world ending virus that will forever change society and its practices. The reader is stuck in this world of stolen brides and death at 20. This is the perfect novel for the reader seeking romance in a world with no happy ending. This is a novel that will inspire many through its rough reality and seemingly comparable characteristics to our own world.

Amanda Hocking's novel, Switched, was very captivating. The first of a series this novel is sure to ensnare your curious tendencies and lure you in with its wit and charm. Switched was enchanting in its character descriptions, as well as the newly found romance between the main characters. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This book is a fantastic tale that will sweep you up in everything magic. The mixture of historical fact and the imagery of the present allow the reader to be caught up in a world of wonder, shirking the responsibilities of every day life and imagining a wondrous and dangerous world of creatures galore. Deborah Harkness writes for the imagination of the adult who wants to escape every day life, and her novel leaves the reader wanting more. You'll never be able to put this book down, and I guarantee you'll be waiting in anticipation of the second of the series.
I was ensnared from the very first page. Catherine Fisher's mastery of literature, and her powerful use of imagery, had me imagining myself in this mystical world of power and magic. You follow Galen and Raffi on their quest to find a magical relic and end up becoming part of the group yourself. There is an epic quality about this book that takes you along on their journey. Deep into the book you'll find yourself exhilarated by the intense need to find and protect the relic, but you'll also become very attached to the characters as you experience what they experience. This first book of four truly sets you on the path to learn who the characters are, and who they evolve into. You may even learn a bit about yourself as you read through this book. It is an adventure you won't want to miss, a dark and elusive tale that can only be read with an eager and open mind.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Carolyn Turgeon's novel tugged at my heart strings. It was an emotional roller coaster that caught my attention from the very beginning. Turgeon's use of narrative with a hint of magical imagination, along with a willingness to believe the unbelievable, created a world of wonder for the reader. In fact, the sadness of the novel is paired quite eloquently with the naivete to want to believe in magic and places that take there.
A love story, with a similar intriguing stylistic format as that of Cecilia Ahern's other publications, that holds its own. This book is one that will capture your heart and have you on the edge of your seat. Each page is like that of a romantic letter written to you by the lover of your dreams. It is a heart warming tale that will entice you at every turn; making you cry, laugh, and become emotionally respondent to it.
