Having read several chapters from this guide which is to be found in the New Scientist 'The Essential Guide' series[1] I want to put the whole series on my bookshelf!

The opening chapter includes a timeline of humanity's history beginning 7 million years ago when our hominin ancestors split from our common ancestor with chimps. Ref. my notes[2].

Quoting the book description on the website[3]: "Where our propensity for morality, art and language comes from" caught my interest, so I read the relevant chapter! Notes duly placed on the web again[2].

The book is a one-stop-shop for planning your own workout.

Towards that end I studied and researched the book and drew some facilitating tables up:

I haven't though I have to admit used the book for my own workouts, the workouts that I did plan were going to require more time than I have.
