With most of Everson's books, once I pick them up, I can't put them down. This was no exception. I think I read it in 2 days. When I did put it down, it was grudgingly even though I HAD to. This novel is a deeper journey into the erotic side of horror than usual. It's a fast paced, wild ride from start to finish. And the ending...well, let's say as the book opens, you never even thought that was the direction this book was going to take.

First we meet a couple, Rae & Mark, who are into the swinger scene. Well, Rae is, & Mark is kind of along for the ride. His love for her pulls him into a deeper world where pain goes hand-in-hand with pleasure, as her lust for blood and violence grows. As Rae finds exactly what she was always looking for in NightWhere, Mark realizes too late exactly what is happening to his beloved wife, and tries to save her. Meanwhile, there are a few other characters from NightWhere that we are introduced to along the way. As I don't want to give too much away, readers will have to find out for themselves what is to become of our characters, and exactly what NightWhere is!

Most definitely not for the weak of stomach, though. Can't wait to read the next one by Mr. Everson!
Holy hell, this book was...I am not sure. It was infuriating at some points (is she ever anything but confused?), and there of course were points where I wanted to stop reading. But, like a train wreck, or traffic accident, I will admit that I couldn't look away. I am, in fact, going to read the next book. I just have to know. Pray for me.

On a side note, "Fifty Shades: The Parody" on stage was absolutely, positively wonderful. And also the only reason I even read this book. Good thing I did, at least I understood the jokes!
Very much a psychological horror, not a gory horror. The narrator is amazing, and fits the tone and character of the book, I think. Scary, there is quite a bit of talk about children dying if that is a trigger. Well written, interesting plot.
Listen to the audiobook. Do it. The Great Dane narration is amazing.
Light hearted, had me laughing the whole time. I needed something not as dark, and this was perfect!
I liked the book, it was magical. I might try a few of the recipes. But that ending...the ending was terrible.
Listened to the audiobook, which was formatted specifically for that. Amazing.
Some of the stories are an interesting take on Zombie "lifestyles" or stories. I found most of the stories boring or just plain weird. Not my favorite.
Please pay attention to the trigger warnings, this one is rough.
It would have been 5 stars, this was an excellent book, but the transitions were a bit confusing. I kept stopping and rewinding the audiobook, thinking I had missed something. But a unique read, I hope there is a sequel.
The ox is an animal that is persistent, if any thing else.
A true example of a well written horror novel. Do not read this if you have a weak stomach. Or love dogs. Or kids.
A Scooby-doo retelling with a Cthulu mythos. Well written and engaging.
Slow-going at times, but definitely not a book I want to read in the dark.
Read the audiobook. The casting....5 stars, chef's kiss. However, it gets 2 stars. If you are going to write characters with Mental illness and trauma, please make sure you do your research. Please, please.
Started off really slow, wasn't sure I was going to finish at all. But, the ending started getting interesting, so I may move onto book #2.
Don't judge me, I got halfway and made myself finish it. A representation of extreme mental illness, and horrifyingly gross.
I read this book in a day, the narrator was perfect. A good, quick read.
As a fan of the movie, I wonder why I waited so long to read this book. I am not disappointed at all.
This book is going to live rent free in my brain for quite awhile.
I enjoy when a FMC can be the prepared one, the fighter, the survivor.
Why does the captain of the Empress look like Vin Diesel?
A light, fun read. It has it's funny moments, with a bit of a murder mystery and some witchcraft thrown in.
I read this one twice, and got through it rather quickly. The first in the series, but I couldn't get through the second one. This one was a very fast read, and the concept is interesting.
