We Were Liars. What a wonderful title. It doesn't quite match up with the book, but it's a wonderful title. Yes, it is a romance. But it's more than that, a tragedy and mystery. Cadence is the main character. The never said her age so at first you get the impression that she's about 16 years old. They talk about her drinking which 16 year olds are allowed to do, but in the book it's intense drinking. So at that point you figure out that she's about 20 to 25. The whole book is about her and her family's private island. With surfing and snorkeling, pretty much anything you want. They have a few houses there for you to stay at (that is if they opened up the island to anyone else outside of the family) and eat house has servants. Her family goes to this island every year for summer vacation to hang out with the family. They have wonderful memories there and she falls in love with a guy named Gat. I'm pretty sure he's like a side cousin. Parents were married into the family. At the time Gat had a girlfriend back at home so it's complicated. He doesn't tell Cady about his girlfriend but she already knew. At the end of that one summer (Which was the 15th summer (Which is another reason I thought she was about 16)) Cady goes night swimming by herself, hits her head on a rock and has brain damage and some other bad things. So she can't remember what happened or anything that was done that summer. It was kinda like short term memory loss, but when you told her again what happened show more that summer she would ask you again the same question the next day because she would forget. So yeah it was short term memory loss. The rest of the book keeps going back to summer 15 and little flashbacks of how she progresses and gets her memory back. She realizes what that are, they basically are a group of little criminals. (aka the liars) and she excepts that. She falls madly in love with Gat a few times in the book and same goes with him to her. They date each other when everyone else says that they shouldn't. Everyone else always says that Cady is or will end up hurting him really bad, or that she would get hurt really bad. She told the liars that One she is already hurting every single day because of her brain damage Two She don care what they think and Three she rather be hurt a thousand times over by risking it all then sitting at home in a box not doing anything about it. show less
This book is a good romance book about to young adults falling in love. It teaches a good lesson to look past the first chapter and that you shouldn't just be mad at someone for one reason and then hold on to it forever. The main character in this story is a normal teenage girl in a normal school. And every normal school has a school bully, in her case a tall guy with perfect hair and perfect teeth. Every girl thinks he's the cutest thing in the world. But she hates his guts. He mad fun of her a few years ago when really he was trying to help her. He called her this stupid name that everyone now still calls her. She just won't let it go. While she was sitting in class one day she was bored so she wrote some lyrics down on the desk from her favorite song. When she came back a day later someone responded and finished her lyrics. She wrote back and that's what started the secret pen pale that she falls in love with. After a few months she wants to meet him in person. But she finds out that her pen pal is her worst enemy. Of course they fall in love at the end because its a romantic book.
Pretty Little Liars is a book about 5 girls who have been best friends since they were born. They're moms where friends while they all were pregnant. So they're really close. Alison (The group leader who bossed all the girls around without them even knowing she did it) is the mean girl. One day Spencer couldn't handle doing everything that Ali told people to do. She was tired of everything Ali wanted done perfect. So she tells Ali off and Ali runs away and doesn't return. Two years later, the group has now been separated but they all come back together connected with a sober bully.

I loved this book, because it's just like The Vampire Diaries. Theres action and drama and gossip. It's all about the girls who are going through a hard time because they thought they were all pretty and popular, but with out Allison there will always be someone to bully them.
The Vampire Diaries is a good book about a normal girl. With a normal life. In a normal neighbor hood. But little did she know that soon it all would change. Super nature life will come back to Fells Church (The name of the town) and change every thing. Elena falls in love with one of the super natural vampires and then turns into one. She dies and becomes a vampire and wakes up with a brain injury where she thinks Damon (Super natural) is Stefan (Brother of the super natural but is also a super natural) and Stefan loves her but she doesn't know that. She thinks that Damon loves her.

I Loved It, and I hate reading so that means something. I love the drama! The romance! The action! When it all goes together they make a GREAT book! The things I like to read are about peoples love life and drama and in this book they have diary entries about how deeply they love each other and all that. And I love that!
All at sea was a memoir about a woman named Decca, how she fell in love with a black drug dealer. Cocaine smoker. A New York gangster. She made him a better person and married him. They had two boys, Jake and Joe. They all went on vacation and one of the boys goes out to sea by his self. Decca and Tony (The husband) swim out to get him. Decca takes her child back to shore thinking Tony is right behind her, But she turns around to find out that Tony is 50 yard farther out. He dies, but no one knows how. People say he drowned without going under water. Then the rest of the book is about her life, how her parents met, how she was married to a guy named Paul but wasn't happy with Paul. Then she met Tony and fell in love with him.

Here is what I think of the book. I hated this book to be honest. Which I find surprising, because as I told you in the paragraph above it was about her life and book like this one are the kinda books i like, but it was so depressing, and it had a lot of bad language in it plus all the talk about his job as a cocaine dealer and how he would cook it over her stove and she pretended it was a normal thing instead of saying something. I understand this actually happened and it was a tragedy but I read the first 3 chapters and they were interesting because her son went out to the ocean on his own and both the parents go out to save him and we know one of them is going to die so there is mystery of which one is gonna die. Then we have the back story of show more the dead husband, with is ok but thats where most of the cocaine talk was. but then the rest of the book was about how she was a mom of two with no husband, and how everyone was willing to give her things, but she continues to be sad. It was just plain boring to me. show less

I personally like this book because I am a drama Queen, and this book is all about the girls' adventure and stories (about boys) and their summers. Bridget is my favorite 'cause she never says no to a challenge no matter how weird or stalkerish it may seem. She was on the wild side always ready for more excitement. The over all book was really good, if your into chick books you'll really like it.

The whole story is about these girls, Bridget, Lena, Tibby, Carma, they are best friends and never spent a summer apart. But this year they will be. Right before they leave each other, they discover these pants that are magical. The pants fit them all perfectly and make them look amazing and more beautiful. It also gives them the feeling of love and bravery and courage. They make rules saying each of them get a share of the pants and they have to send them to each other at least two times around. Each of them do amazing things in the pants, some good and some bad. But over all they were things to learn from. then find their way back together while learning some valuable lessons.
The Unlikely Story of a Pig in the City is a good book by Jodi Kendall. It tells you about a how hard Jodi's life is being tall, and her parents aren't blessed as most are. Her brother saves the life of a little pig named hamlet. Jodi convinces her parents to keep hamlet. She was to find Hamlet a home before NewYears, that was the deal otherwise Jodi's parents would give Hamlet away to anyone, even if it meant to a bacon factory. Jodi had to pay for hamlets food and everything she needed. She was saving her money up for gymnastics though. She ends up getting too attached to Hamlet and feels as if she's apart of their family. She and her friends to keep Hamlet. Finding what are the reasons they should keep him and such. New Years is cutting close and so now she goes to her moms friend that's an expert with animals and asked her what she should do. She doesn't want to give Hamlet away, but she doesn't want her parents to give Hamlet to person who will make her breakfast. The fallowing day the police show up at her door saying have a pet in her apartment is validating code and laws. So Jodi sits down with hamlet and asks her what he wants even though it's ridiculous. But Jodi is gonna try it 'cause her moms friend said she does that sometimes and it helps her. Hamlet didn't want to stay even thought Hamlet loves Jodi, Hamlet wants to be free and live in the open farms. Ends up she gave away Hamlet to a nice family, her neighbors siblings, and will always be able to visit.

In show more my personal opinion I can relate to her about being tall, I know this is stupid to talk about. But I wanted to be a gymnast forever, but since I didn't start when I was little it's too late to start. I thinks its so sweet that she wanted to save Hamlet and I wouldn't have wanted to give him up either but she made the right choice. show less
Ugly, by Robert Hoge is a great true story, and its based on his life. It's real and moving. Where a kid gets rejected from most of the world but a few of his best friends, and has a desire to play a sport, any sport, but can't because of his disabilities. At the ending when he finds his sport and he has something to hold on to and excepts who he is, was a real lesson to me. It showed me that I don't have to wear the coolest clothes to fit in, or wear a bunch of make up or whatever it is that make you cool. Show who you are on the inside and people will like you for you and not for the person your faking and trying to be.
The Running Dream is a very inspiring story about a runner who looses a leg, but that doesn't stop her from continuing her dream... Running! When she broke her leg, she thought all hope was lost. But everyone on her track team and school knew how much she loved running, so the whole school raised fundraisers to make enough money for her new running leg, and she made it. I hate running, but after reading this book I felt like doing nothing else. It reminded me of how gifted I am to be able to do the things I can.

Jessie and Terri barrow tools from Terri's dads work shop, and from Henrietta's fathers tool shop.
