This is a great, somewhat dark fantasy story about a female protagonist and her struggle to grow up hidden from her usurping relative. This story includes hedge witches, wizards, ghosts, and family struggles. It's the first book of three that follow this protagonist. It has great character development, good world building, and an engaging story. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 mostly due to the fact that I prefer lighter stories to escape into.
