Bogman written by Irish author, R.I. Olufsen, is a murder mystery set in Denmark. Danish Chief Inspector Lange and his colleagues must figure out who it was that was found mummified in a bog and who committed the murder. The mystery drew me in and held my attention to the end.

The writing style is cleaner and kinder than some mystery stories. The characters are nice to each other. They compliment each other and cooperate well with other crime departments. To me, a positive thing. Tobias, Inspector Lange, is a normal guy. He doesn't leap roofs, he is not grandiose, doesn't use foul language, and he eats healthy. There is no "fast food" in this mystery.

I found myself looking up information on Denmark, bogs, bog bodies, Lapland, and what is leylandii (it is Leland cypress in the USA). I enjoy learning something new.

I recommend this mystery to young adults and adults. I enjoyed this mystery!

IBS Free by Heather Crawford
As someone who has suffered from IBS for years, I wanted to read this 82 page book. I am glad that I did. IBS Free helped me understand what FODMAP is and its effect on the GI system in layman's terms. Two good lists are the High FODMAP foods list and Low FODMAP foods list. I find lists useful, especially while food shopping. The Low FODMAP recipes are easy, delicious, and serve two or four people. So far, I made the Low FODMAP Nicoise Salad, the Low FODMAP Mediterranean Baked Fish, and the Low FODMAP Balsamic Salad Dressing. I plan to try more recipes. Also included is a preview of the 28 Day Eat Clean Diet. I liked this preview as well.
The Folly Under the Lake is a whodunit in the style of Agatha Christie. The book begins a bit slowly as the characters are introduced. As soon as the characters are settled into the mansion, there is a huge storm, a jewel theft, and a murder. The story moves along well and keeps the reader guessing the identity of the culprit through the police investigation of the murder to the book's conclusion. The victim, the owner of the mansion and its lake and folly, has been both disrespectful and dishonest with all of his guests. So, who killed him? I also liked the description of the folly, waterfalls, and statues. I wanted to see all of it for myself! A fun read.

This book is a collection of contemporary short stories with each one steeped in the essence of Poe. Each author has written a story influenced by Poe's dark tales. Horror, death, and twists abound from a treasure chest to an orange cat to being buried alive and more! The authors have done justice to Poe and this is an excellent anthology. They captured Poe's spirit. I loved these stories and really enjoyed reading each of them. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading Poe.

A Child’s Christmas in New England by Robert Sullivan. Illustrated by Glenn Wolff

The author writes about growing up in Chelmsford, MA at Christmas Time during the 1950's’ and 1960’s. I too grew up near Chelmsford in the late 1950’s and 1960’s and Christmas was always a magical time for us. Like the author, we received skis with bear trap bindings, Lionel trains, Rock’em, Sock’em robots, and G.E. record players and we loved all the colored lights and tinsel.
We also walked our Flexible Flyer sleds everywhere to go sledding. We had dogs, too and like the author’s dog, Dutchess, our dogs ate pretty well and they followed us around outside while we sledded and played. We even went to the same Enchanted Village at Jordan Marsh store in Boston and ate lobster Newberg at parties. Our family even had an Olds Cutlass, just like the author’s family. Those days were so much fun. For me, this wonderful book was a trip down memory lane. I loved both the story and the illustrations. A delightful book!!
