Good book to show students how memories have an everlasting impact on our lives. Shows how others can impact us just as much as we can impact them.
Great humorous and creative book for children of all ages. Currently reading as a read aloud with my students. Really captures children's imaginations and influences them to use all their senses while listening to George's "marvelous concoction" for grandma. Suggest having students discuss the real-life effects of putting random ingredients into a medicine concoction (i.e. Would this be safe in real life? What do you think might have really happened?)
Interesting twist for a chapter book. Great for students who prefer visual learning. Illustrations help to reinforce and enhance the story. A good introductory chapter book for children. Can possibly give them the mindset that they can read a chapter book and feel a sense of accomplishment after reading.
Great for introducing chapter books to students. Filled with rich imagery and detail. Writer's style shows a strong attention to detail (very descriptive in his writing). Read as a Read Aloud to my students. They seemed to really enjoy its grotesque humor and wit.
