I unexpectedly fell in lust with Cursed by Furies, book one in the Cursed Elves series. This book wasn't the sex filled smut fest I expected, it was better.

The standout factor of this book is that communication is an important factor in all the relationships and misunderstandings or hiding things from a partner isn't used as a plot device.

The pacing is great, I was never bored reading. The book did a great job of furthering the overall series plot while also containing its own story.

There is a great combination of Norse and Greek mythology mixed with fantasy aspects (mermaids, vampires, elves, witches, etc).

Highly recommend for anyone who likes paranormal or urban romance.

This was presented to me as a High Fantasy Novel and its been sitting on my TBR for months because I just wasn't in the mood to read it. I finally forced myself to pick it up and turns out its more of a Paranormal Romance.

The vampire/elf combo was new and refreshing twist. The author NAILED the differences in Elvish and Human personalities and relationships. The sex scenes were pretty tame (I personally prefer them that way). The plot was actually really good, far more in depth than I'd typically expect from a Paranormal Romance.

I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to more books in this series.

I enjoyed this book as a fun spooky season read. Its not scary and the characters are a stereotypical. The ending was very disappointing for me. While I liked the story I wasn't invested enough to continue the series.

If you're looking for short spooky reads for Halloween and you like very standard slasher movie type stories without a lot of death or trauma this might be a good book to pick up.

A few preambles before I actually get into my review of this book. I have never really enjoyed reading self help books, I'm more of a YouTube video type of person for life advice. I also didn't follow the suggestion of this book to read a chapter and employ what you learned for a week before reading the next chapter. My goal was to complete the entire book for review instead of implementing these life changes.

Did this book give miraculous information on how to suddenly be healthy? No, and that's a good thing. This isn't promising its going to suddenly make you skinny or instantly help you quit smoking, its not lying to you.

Did this book give realistic advice on how to think in order to form healthy habits? Yes, I think so although I haven't actually tried to implement any of them personally.

Did I learn something? Yes, I learned how to actively think better of myself.

Is my life completely altered for the better after reading this? No

Have I been inspired to read other self help books? Nope.

Honestly. This book was fine but not great. It seemed to have some good general advice, which is the idea of a self help book published for the masses. This wont work for everyone but it might work for you. I have no basis to compare this to other self help books as I really don't feel the need to change anything about my current life or lifestyle in a general sense. I'd consider recommending this to anyone I know who is struggling with fad diets or general lack of motivation.
