A Taste Of You is an adventure-filled book set in the same universe as Jennifer Stevenson’s Brass Bed series but featuring different characters. A roller derby skating, magically created energy vampire and a magic-fearing federal agent are thrown together as they come upon a power-mad, crazy man who seeks to be made immortal and all powerful. I greatly enjoyed the characters and the twists and turns, and I think this is a great read.
I really enjoyed the characters in this book. The two main characters, a stagehand and a waitress, are very deeply in their respective worlds. The waitress witnesses an embarrassing episode involving the stagehand, and he attempts to head off blackmail by seducing her. The story is engaging and the pace moves along nicely. I would recommend this for anyone who likes edgy urban romantic comedy. I laughed a lot as I read this.
This is a very funny romantic comedy that I really enjoyed reading. This book features members of feuding families thrown together and falling in love, and their efforts to bring peace to the warring factions. The story is set in the somewhat blue collar environment of big city stagehands, and we get a view into life backstage. In spite of the family feud thing, the tone is light and I laughed all the way through this.
This book made me laugh a lot. The story is set in an alternate Chicago with some magic, including (as it turns out) an incubus serving out a curse. Great stuff ensues. The book moves along nicely and is really a lot of fun. And there are two more in the series, I now find. I would recommend this to anyone who likes romatic comedy with a paranormal element.
