As a reader with a limited knowledge of Classical Composers and Music I found this both entertaining and informative. It gives a broad overview of the development of music from the begining to the near present, including short biographies of some great composers. A worthwhile read.

I first read this book while travelling in the Mani in 2003. This is a wonderful evocation of the Mani in the 1950's and although much had changed in 50 years both the book and the Mani were and are well worth a visit.

A splendidly entertaining record of the boys travels to exotic places with wonderful recipes.
