As someone who loves Kevin Smith, it's no surprise I enjoyed the book. He's a great storyteller and this translates well to books. It's a very interesting read, funny, uplifting and sad at times. He never shies away from being himself and it's nice to feel like you are being included on his journey in life. And as a dad, it's heartwarming to hear how he gushes about his daughter. One of my favorite parts of the book is the essay from his daughter. Why should the man ever care about critics again after that review?
I really liked this book, yet parts of it leave a lot to be desired.

Here be spoilers:

I read a lot of comics so the return of Legion wasn't exactly a surprise. The power that he has is very interesting, it's clever that the author made him stupid, if not he would be completely unstoppable. I hate that the story ends so damn abruptly. I get that there will be more books, but the story barely really advances all that much. That being said, I really do enjoy the stories, but like most good stories I really want more.

Also, how long is it before Smith and Legion team up? Next book, maybe?
I enjoyed this book. It started off kind of slow and boring but once it picked up,I couldn't put it down. I'm a sucker for a flawed hero and they are here in spades. St. George might be one of my favorite new characters. Flawed, but trying to do the right thing but also not stupid to the point where it comes with all the negativeness of being a boring boy scout.

The one thing that was mildly odd to me was the sexual parts. I'm no prude, I don't mind sex in books, but this just seemed shoehorned in.

Overall a great book. Want to start The next one, but I need to sleep.
