Dark Sacrifice was truly terrifying. The parental betrayal had me continually reading along with genuine curiosity for what was coming next. The small town aesthetic fitted the story arc very well. The book is also very well written, setting the scene perfectly for the storyline and making the whole scenario believable in a sense. If you are a horror lover who specifically enjoys ritualistic style horrors then Dark Sacrifice should be on your reading list. This book has not to be missed. I would love to hear of a follow up to dark sacrifice…. Hopefully it is on the cards for the future

"Sometimes you don't know when you have invited the devil in. Shrouded in ritualistic darkness running deep through the elite socialites of New York, Golem is a great read for fans of horror and dark stories"
Alena has been born and raised within the New York high society elites, and she has a lot of influence over the people in her world. Through a series of traumatic events, Alena invites the wrong person into her world. Enter Golem, someone who Alena assumes is everything she ever desired in a man, after some time however, it becomes clear this is not the case. Alena first is pulled into the darkness of Xibalba, followed by others within her socialite circle. By the time Alena realises what is happening to her and her beloved family name, it may be too late for her to escape the darkness that has enveloped her world.
Golem is a fascinatingly dark read that is very well written. Once I began reading, I really found it hard to stop, the storyline drew me in and kept me intrigued to know more. The time period of Golem is very fitting with the socialite aspect, and I enjoyed the plot development of the ever-growing darkness swallowing the elite ladies and gentlemen of New York.
I would highly recommend Golem to fans of horrors, especially fans of ritualistic, dark stories.
I enjoyed reading this book very much. The protagonist’s feelings of guilt were prominent throughout the story. The love interest was very well written as a brooding detective and I hope this carry’s on in the next book taking their relationship further. The ending could have been a bit more of a showdown, it was slightly anticlimactic in a sense. I would have liked to hear more of the villains and not just how they were caught. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. I do recommend this book as it really was a great read with deep seeded feelings running throughout.
I have really enjoyed this book, it has peaked my curiosity of Norse myths and legends and has left me wanting to know more (time to do some research). I also really enjoyed the value of memories within the story, our memories are powerful and it was nice to see them being represented as such. Having had a close family member with Alzheimer’s I also appreciated the way the story approached that topic in particular.
