But Maybelline only wants to find her father all she knows about him is that he lives in Los Angeles. She goes on a journey to find him with her best friend. Overall this is funny book with a serious tone of voice. A realistic fiction that teaches you not to get discouraged..I liked it.
This is the first book in the Once Upon a Prom series. It gives you some insight to three young girls and their lives. Their relationships with boys, their friendship and so on are some of the things you’ll get to. The ending leaves a lot of things unanswered most probably because there are two more books to this set. The characters are realistic and easy to get attached to. It’s a good teen read.
This a cute book. Various situations in which a child should never talk to strangers are shown. It is a great help in starting conversations with young ones about who to talk to and who not to. Its got a good message. Along with lesson the pages are filled with colourful artwork.
This is a story about Pinocchio who was created as a puppet. He dreams of becoming a real boy. It’s a cute book which just as cute illustrations.
This book is about the friendship of Halley and Scarlett. It’s about how they stick together through so many life changing incidents. Good, bad, happy and sad times. Their friendship goes through many obstacles which tests their limits as best friends. Its written very realistically and is very relatable to things teens would go through. Great read for teenage girls.
This fairytale is about a boy named Jack and the day Jack sells his family's cow for magic beans. His mother is anything but pleased. The beans then go on to sprout into a towering beanstalk. It leads in to a castle filled with gold and other treasures. Jack's family will be rich, if he can sneak past the man-eating giant. Here comes the famous, "FEE FIE FOH FUM! I smell the blood of an Englishman!" This book is comic book size. I thought the graphic visual format of this story was exciting. The illustrations are simple and leave enough space for the reader imagination to take over as well.
This book contains some very funny poems voiced by a 15-year old girl. It’s a book with concrete poems about a teenager making her way through high school and all the issues and things she experiences along the way. The way her emotions are told in the poetry is pretty funny. At one point you actually have to mirror the book in a mirror in order to read it properly! I thought it was a creative write up. It’s a good read for teens.
Great book about movement and interaction with children. Its a good way for kids to get involved with the story from the book and follow directions. It makes the reading fun. Because of this I liked this book. It was my first time reading it and I can only imagine reading it to a group of toddlers! It would be so much funny experience.
Newbery Honor-winning Ella Enchanted is a charming fairy tale about a young woman who finds herself and romance as she seeks to undo a curse that has plagued her since she was a young girl. Because of the curse Ella always does what anyone tellers to do eventually Ella tries to break away the curse but her life gets more awful when her father marries a horrible woman who has equally horrible daughters. Ella Enchanted stuck to the original story Cinderella but had twists and turns in it. I thought the emotion in the book was handled nicely. Overall I found this book to be a really enjoyable read. It’s great for young children aged 8-12.
