For a book on working out, Christabel Zamor promises hooping is fun and she wasn't kidding. The book offers many colorful pictures on what you can do with your hoop and comes with a video.
At the beginning she says, "The hoop gives everyone permission to be raucous, like they've been let out for recess."
It's so true. I don't really laugh when I'm exercising. I just watch the clock to see how long it will take for this to be over. With hooping, I was laughing. I even felt silly and young which is a great feeling when you haven't been young for a while.
For as much fun as I had, the next day I woke up feeling muscles that I didn't even know I worked out. I felt like I had been playing, rather badly because I'm not good at hooping, but just trying all the workouts gave me a good workout.
I woke thinking, "I want to do this again today," instead of the usual, "Well, I worked out yesterday so I can take today off."
This is so much fun. I recommend this to anyone who deals with stress, or is easily exhausted. You will find yourself having a good time, laughing and you won't even feel like you're working out. As for the exhaustion, even my first attempt at hooping filled me with a great deal of energy.

This was a very provocative novella and a quick read for anyone into S/M, heavy on the master and slave part. The story line, with her being such a good young woman, living to help others, the reader gets the immediate sense that she is deeply hindered by her family and soon to be husband. When she's kidnapped, she learns so much about passion and about fear and a great deal of want and need.
I also enjoyed the secondary pieces, where she falls in love with another type of slave, who happens to be dominate over her. The ending was just amazing. It was subtle and pretty.

I thought the theme of this book was clever, about how all the past stories have living characters because the characters lived through the minds of the readers. We can love stories and those characters can play over and over in our heads. Also, the fact that people have a shadow that is like them, unless they let that part of themselves go, where it becomes its own, was clever.
The way the problem evolves, because everyone mystical seems to live in a world detached from ours, explains one possibility to all this building technology. Charles tells stories how they use to be told, with building characters and plot and character growth.

Every chapter in this book has its own writer advice, from Editing, to Marketing, to Writer's Block, to Creativity, etc. Some of the quotes were flat out funny, "I've been there before," thoughts. Other quotes were inspirational, about focusing on yourself and your own projects and not getting too far ahead. Other qoutes held a great deal of advice if not simple reminders on how we should approach ourselves in this industry, and others. As a writer, I thought this was a great book.
I'm halfway through this and can't put it down, though parts of it make me a little comfortable. I'm so glad I picked this up to read.
This is an amazing novel. I love faeries and the way she weaved the story, it had me laughing, anxious, and more than not, turning that page to see what was going to hapen next.
