This book was about Alex Rider again. This time he was sent to the London tennis tournament and was appointed ball boy. By there he found out about the Chinese gang, the Red Circle. He killed one of them and stuck him in a freezer while he was at the tennis tournament. When that happened all of the other gang members were like a family and so when he killed one of them they all got mad at him and sent another one to go and kill him. By that time Alex Rider was surfing a huge wave at the beach with his girlfriend he met at the tennis tournament. The man got on a speed boat and got a gun but Alex jumped on the boat and pushed the guy off of the boat. The man died in the water but Alex got away. Then he started to work with the CIA in America and they had him go to Cuba to a place called Skeleton Key. Over there two agents got killed by a great white shark but Alex managed to escape and got captured by a man with a nuclear bomb trying to destroy his own country in Russia. Alex had sort of been adopted as the general's son but tried to escape and failed. Then he tried to escape again and was successful in stopping the nuclear bomb.
This book was about Alex Rider being captured by a man with a nuclear bomb. I liked the fact the man wanted Alex as a son. That was because he reminded him of his own son Dimitri, that had died in a war. Alex did not want to be adopted because the man was crazy. Also he didn't want to be there in the first place it is just that the CIA made him go. show more It was cool that Alex then killed a trained professional and turned of the nuclear bomb in less than 10 minutes. That was my essay for Mr. Poppe. show less

This book was about Alex Rider again. This time Alex was sent to a very rich person and he had to pretend that he was their son so he could get into this school in the top of the French Alps. He finally got in and he felt that inside of the school everything seemed normal except for one thing. The school was meant for kids that have been expelled from lots of other schools and were sons of rich people. Alex noticed that even how bad the other kids were after about a week they were acting like top model students. Alex noticed that the school was actually a prison and they were trapping the bad kids after a time and were making exact clones of them to replace them. Alex noticed that and the school administrator found out so he tried to kill Alex and he escaped down the mountain with a homemade snowboard.
I think that was a very good book. I liked the part when Alex had been found out by the head of the school and was going to be an example of a human dissection for a biology class the kids were taking. It was interesting how Dr.Grief had found out a way to clone himself sixteen times and used all of the kids to be the clones. The thing about that was that all of the kids belonged to rich people who have really big influences in the world. That way the clones could kill the rich people and have a lot of influence and enough to take over the world if it succeeds. Alex had almost died once in the end but the bullet proof sky suit saved him even if it was on accident that he had show more worn that that day. That was my essay for Mr. Poppe. show less

This book was about a spy named Alex Rider. What Alex Rider did was that he worked for the MI6 in London and was appointed there because he found out that his uncle had really been a spy there too. They made Alex a spy in place of his uncle that died in a mission. It turns out Alex was very useful and he went through training quickly. Then, they sent him to a place near the shore, that was a factory and he had been ordered to find and if possible, kill a man named Herod Sayle. Herod Sayle was a man who was from Cairo and was extremely smart so he started a business and now is delivering computers called Stormbreakers to schools all around Great Britain. The MI6 suspected something wrong with it because of his uncle and sent Alex to investigate. Alex went their as a pretend student to be the first to use the stormbreaker and found lots of evidence that the stormbreaker computers had a virus, but a virus that was in the computer but also came out when it was turned on and could kill thousands of children but Alex found out and in the end he had gotten trapped in an aquarium holding a giant Portuguese Man of War jelly fish but managed to break out with one of his gadgets and kill Herod Sayle before he delivered the computers.
My opinion on this book is that it was a very good book. I liked the fact that they had chosen only a fourteen year old boy in London to do jobs an adult should be doing just because his uncle had been a spy at the MI6. I also liked the fact that the show more author of the book had managed to make Alex into an exceptional spy and still make it believable that he could do the things that he could. The stormbreaker computers was also a very good idea to put into the story. Also the background of how Herod Sayle grew up in Cairo but saved some rich people so they adopted him but he was bullied in school and the he wanted revenge so he created the stormbreakers with a virus was very creative. I knew that there were 6 or 7 sequels of Alex Rider so I knew that he wouldn't die in this book but he came very close to dying in the book. That was what made the book super interesting for me. That was my summary for Alex Rider Stormbreaker book. show less

This is for Mr.Poppes class B3.
This is one of my favorite books of all time. It is written by the same guy who wrote the FableHaven series. The part about each kid was interesting. The author provided a very interesting background to the kids. My favorite part of the book was when the kids first found out about the magic candy, and what it could do to them. Trevor, the chubby kid had a super interesting background and was much different than I had imagined him to be. I also liked how instead of putting the magic in something common, the author used candy for it to provide a much more interesting storyline.

I like this book but it was definitely not my favorite book of all time. Unlike the first Hunger Games, this one had way too much talking and explaining things over about what to do. One of the things that made this book interesting though is that the beginning was in water. Also because they made the victors of the previous Hunger Games compete again. And the timing for different natural disasters was also pretty well thought up. I did not think that it was fair also to make people that won before compete if they were almost 80 years old now. All in all, it was not the best book because of all of the talking. And their was too many twists that just ruined the book.
This book was about the second Hunger Games since Katniss joined in the first one. Instead of picking new champions they chose older champions that had already won the past Hunger Games. Since their was only three victors that were alive from district twelve they did that because they knew either Katniss or Peeta might get picked and they wanted revenge against them. Katniss got picked again to go into the new Hunger Games. From district 4 Finnick got picked and that is who a lot of people liked so it just got more interesting. It was a swimming blood bath so only the fastest swimmers would make it and get the good weapons. Katniss and Peeta already knew how to swim so they got there first. They formed a small allience through that Hunger Games and at the end blew up the force show more field and managed to escape before they go caught and that is how it started a rebellion and that is what the third book of the series is about. This book was a very good book to read. I think that it is a good book because it will suit most peoples interests. That is because insteas of focusing on just one main genre it has lots of sub genres and emphasizes each one a lot so that no matter what type of reader you are then it will probably suit you. My favorite part of the book was when Matteo Alacran hit Tom Alacran in the face with a rotten apple because Tom shot Matteo with a peashooter. Some of the other good parts was when Matt found out that Tam Lin was a murderer. Those were my opinions about The House of the Scorpion.
This book was about a boy named Matteo Alacran. Instead of being an ordinary boy, he was actually a clone born from a cows stomach. Later on in life he found out that he was a clone of an extremely rich man who controlled most of Opium. Opium was the future land of what used to be Lower America and parts of Mexico. The rich man's name was also Matteo Alacran. He found his clone in very poor condition and being abused by the people who were supposed to be taking care of Matteo. Then he threw them out and let them him live in royalty with him. He met a girl named Maria and her brother Tom who was mean but Maria was nice. Throughout the book, they went through troubles and eventually tried to escape in the end but got caught. Inside of the book Matteo also learned a lot about different people like the rich guy's body guard Tam Lin. That was my essay for The House of the Scorpion.

This is for Mr. Poppe's class. This book was about a little kid named Ender. He was part of a test to see if young boys were fit to ride into space and come into the army. Ender was chosen and he rode out into the spaceship. Before Ender went, he had a very mean brother named Peter. Also a sister he liked very much. When Ender went to space training he got much better than everyone else who was new to the ship. Before long Ender ranked up and then controlled a battalion/legion and fought daily battles with them in the battle room. First the team was not that good but they got a lot better. But when his team got too big then the planner people would make Ender's team fight two battles in a row. The team got very mad and started to fight. After that the team got trained on the battle simulator. Ender did very good and at the end he had to defeat over 100,000 aliens. But he did a very good job and defeated them but then learned that all of the simulator battles he had been doing were real battles and he was commanding a real army and after that last fight, since Ender won, actually the war was won.
My opinion of this book was that it was very good but a little slow-going. Some of the chapters were very boring and I didn't want to read them, but the rest of the book was interesting. I might read the other books of the series if I can find them in the library somewhere. I was also surprised when Major Rackham turned out to be the old man that kept coming into Ender's room. I show more was also surprised when Major Rackham was very fast and kicked Ender in the back. Also at the end of the book it was kind of boring because they mostly just talked back home at his new house. All in all that book was not one of my favorite books but was still good. show less

This is for Mr.Poppes class. This is one of my favorite books of all time. What happened in the book is that Gandalf the wizard went to Bilbo Baggin's house, and talked to Bilbo. Then the next day, 14 dwarves came into Bilbo's house unexpectedly and started to have a gigantic feast without Bilbo knowing that they were going to come. After the dwarves ate at Bilbo's house, they left. The next day Bilbo was supposed to be at the end of the hill with the dwarves but didnt know because he didn't see the note the dwarves left him so he did not know that he was supposed to go to the hill. Eventually Gandalf told him about it and Bilbo made it to the hill. Then after that Bilbo learned that he was going with the dwarves on an adventure to kill Smaug the dragon and claim the dwarves mountain back. Then they went to the mountain and on the way faced giant spiders, trolls, goblins, and wargs. Then they got to the mountain, distracted Smaug, and the river people killed Smaug.
My opinion of the book is that it was great. It is maybe my favorite book of all time and I am definitely going to read the Lord of the Rings. If I had to decide what my favorite part of the book was the part where the humans, dwarves, and elfs had a war agains't the goblins when they were about to have a war with themselves. I liked a lot of the parts in the book but that was my favorite part. I was also surprised when the dwarves got to the mountain and got the loot because Smaug was off hunting and to show more destroy the Lake-town. Also I liked the part where they escaped in barrels from the elf kingdom. That was my essay about the hobbit for Mr. Poppes class. show less

This was probably my favorite book in the series. It was interesting to find out what he would buy, do, or learn first. It was also kind of weird to me when I found out the wizarding world could not say Voldemort's name. And also how Harry could say it because because he didn't know Voldemort when he was a kid but Hermione didn't know who Voldemort was either and she was scared to say his name. Also I think it was sort of obvious that Quirrel was hiding something under his big turban.
I think the book was one of the best ones in the series. Some of the few things I didn't like about this book was that there was too much talking and not enough action. The end was very interesting because they were in the department of mysteries, and then when they found out about the room of requirement that was very interesting because I was anxious to see what place they would be in next. Also the last thing that I knew would happen but I did not like at all is when Sirius Black died.
I think the book was definitely not as good as the first one. Because it was set in the city and had x-ray and armpit it was to me not that good. When it also included the pop star I started to not like the book. But it was also a weird coincidence that armpit and x-ray lived in the same place as each other. But the end was my favorite part because finally got to go to the concert and then the singer found out there was fake tickets but it didn't bother her.
I liked this book. The characters were all well made and Zero and Stanley went on a great adventure together. The first part was about when Stanley was being bullied so he walked home but got hit in the head by a pair of shoes that seemingly fell out of the sky. As it turns out the shoes were actually Clide livingstons world cup series shoes that he donated to a homeless shelter. Then Stanley got sent to Camp Greenlake to get better behavior. Then Stanley met Zero and they both ran away from camp but found eachother in the desert but continued on to gods thumb and found a whole lot of onions and fresh water. Eventually when they were healthy enough again they set off back to camp Greenlake. They found the burried treasure the warden has been making them dig holes for. Then somebody came for Stanley and Zero hired private detectors to find hlis mom and then they bought a house and all lived together. And also Stanleys Dad found a way to make your shoes less stinky. The mix was onions and peaches.
In my opinion the book was a very good book and very well written. The characters were likable and almost anybody would like them. The plot was also very well made in my opinion. There was good humor, action, and all in all, a great story. I think my favorite character would be Zero, who was a very quiet person at first, but when Stanley started talking to him, he talked more and more. But the biggest twist in the story which was also my favorite part in the story was when you show more found out about that it was actually Zero who had thrown the shoes in the beginning. But weirdly Stanley did not care if Zero threw them or not because he made great friends with people at Camp Greenlake. show less
