If you want to understand how an American armored division functioned during WW2 this is the book to read. Why the US only had a heavy tank that could stand up to the heavier German armor is a story I have never read before.
If You Survive: From Normandy to the Battle of the Bulge to the End of World War II, One American Officer's Riveting True Story by George Wilson
One of the best first person accounts of the war in Europe viewed from one soldier's perspective.
I enjoyed reading this book. I always wondered how the Internet came about, and Hafner does a terrific job writing its story. I recommend Where Wizards Stay Up Late to those wondering how one of the most important inventions of the last century came about.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, particularly that part talking about the USAF between the end of WWII and Korea. I have since talked to a former fighter pilot who met Olds in Viet Nam and confirmed that he was indeed a special person.
A most wonderful read. The author makes the mundane interesting. Its a book I often take along when I travel.
THE ZIMMERMAN TELEGRAM THE STORY OF EVENTS LEADING UP TO AMERICA'S ENTRY INTO WORLD WAR I by Barbara Tuchman
It is difficult to believe that this is work of nonfiction. Written by a first class historian its a fascinating tale of deceit, treachery and gall.
Point of Impact is a great read. It is a fast moving story that kept me reading for hours.
