The blurb for Annihilation sounded great but I found it sagged a bit in places. Once I got into it though I started really enjoying it. Still lots of questions at the end and I suspect that had I rated it after reading the second book I'd have given it 4 stars rather than three. All in all though I'm definitely glad I stuck with it - many things from the book have stayed with me and I enjoyed the second part in the trilogy too.
One of my favourite books ever!! I read it first in Spanish and then in English - beautifully translated. The film's great too.
It's a fun easy read. It did keep me turning pages. A perfect book for a long journey.
If there's one book that changed my life it's this one. I read it many years ago when I was a student, probably shortly after it came out and it has helped ensure that I always look into things in depth and assume nothing. It should be compulsory reading for everybody. Bravo Chomsky.
Amazing - I couldn't put it down. Definitely not fluffy but it's so worth the slightly traumatic read! It's mostly a thriller but is full of adventure, chase and intrigue and is a pretty terrifying vision of the future. You'll be so glad you read this – it's one of those books that stays with you.
