I finished it but the characters never quite gelled in this one. They were caricatures of what I think the author was attempting to create. I purchased 3 of author's books awhile back and I am now reading the Doll House. I am sure I will finish but am not sure yet if the author did a better job or not. The plot line is what kept me reading, of course. lol
Not quite as good as some of her others but kept my attention.
Not quite as good as the other novels in the series. I felt like I could tell the difference in the writing.... not quite as tight as the others? I would still read 10.. but if no improvement maybe not 11. lol (this review is more for my benefit in the future.)
Very different approach to time travel. Has romance... and blood and gore. I enjoyed it.
Excellent book. Brings San Diego and Mexican families to life! From laughter to tears. One of the best books I have read recently!
Lacks a little from the other In Death books but very readable anyway.
A fantastic Alternate History about the ending of the Civil War and the Zombies who are taking over the world.
Not as much of a page turner as the Paris Wife. Not sure if I found wife #3 a little less compelling? Cuba was more interesting than Paris but the middle of this book dragged a little for me.
Based on the true story of the Donner Party. It has a different take on what caused a lot of the problems within the wagon train... as well as who was eating who. Interesting theories about mad men and desperation.
Not quite up to other books I have read by Christopher Rice. The twists and turns are fascinating but Charlotte (the Burning Girl) is not quite three dimensional... despite the many descriptions of her psyche and the reasons it is the way it is.
