I seem to really like books about messy human beings muddling through life and this one was no different. I badly wanted to give it 4 stars because I enjoyed the characters, the humour and the writing style but the ending fell a little flat for me.

Best book I've read all year. I pulled a near all nighter to finish it and wish I'd spaced it out a bit more so the pleasure lasted longer.
The main character is simply delightful. Eleanor is quirky, funny, literal and very smart but lonely and messed up from unfortunate beginnings. I found myself silently cheering for her the whole way through my read!
