Dr. Jane Catson didn’t realize what excellent detective skills she possessed until a very unpleasant creature appeared uninvited on her doorstep. He introduced himself as Sherlock Bones, which Dr. Catson muttered, was a ridiculous name for anyone, especially a dog. Now the game is on to solve the mysteries in this story. And to discover why strange inventions, old ladies, the police, a turtle, and puppies must be involved.
This delightful new children’s series from Tantrum Books for Month9Books begins with The Adventures of Sherlock Bones, Case File #1: Dog-Gone by Lauren Baratz-Logsted. Even adult humans will enjoy the game. All readers will delight in this introduction to Sherlock Bones whose deductive abilities are matched only by Dr. Jane Catson’s wisdom and medical training. Author Baratz-Logsted presents lovable and unlovable characters and gives us new heroes to follow in many more mysterious adventures. Baratz-Logsted also takes the time to include “teachable moments” on a number of topics as well.
I highly recommend this book to all in the intended audience of children and tweens, and to everyone else, as well.
