I need book 3 ASAP. A new favorite of mine, I really need to read more by this author. He has joined the list of my favorite authors.
Omg, this ending made me cry. I had no idea how invested I was in these characters, this world and this story. It ended perfectly but I wouldn't be adverse to more stories in this world. I definitely recommend this and I want more sea fantasy novels as long as they are as well written as this.
I love this series! Once I finished the first book, I immediately bought the rest. I'm glad I did because I'm going to jump into the last book as soon as I finish this review. I'm loving the characters and the world so much. I find myself rooting for them and even getting a little teary when someone dies. I hope RJ Barker can stick the landing in the finale.
Fonda Lee is a literary genius and is forever and always on the list of my favorite authors. The emotions she evoked in me had my sister's looking at me like I was crazy. I laughed, cried, cheered, and even once put the book down and paced in the hallway for a minute.
I loved Jaya and I wished she had gotten more page time. There was some awesome Green Bone action. Anden remains my mvp and I never stopped loving Hilo even as I was cursing him out in my head for some of his decisions. Wen is a freaking Pillar all on her own. Quite frankly there is so much that happens in this book and it's all amazing and emotional. I could keep going forever. Everyone needs to read the Green Bone Saga so we can get more amazing stuff from this author.

Malec has always been my favorite and this book just made me double down. It makes me happy to finally get some Magnus pov and a more three dimensional Alec.
I feel like this deserves 4 1/2 stars. Much improved from the first book and I can't wait to get started on city of glass.
Read this book! An intricate fantasy world with great mythology and magic. Memorable characters both male and female. She has become one of my new favorite authors.
Read this book if you are a John Gwynne fan, he doesn't disappoint. A lot of great characters and epic fantasy fights and monsters. I can't wait for the sequel.
3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. This was a great story. I enjoyed the characters and the twist at the end made me say wow and pissed me off at the same time lol. I will say that I could tell that the black characters are obviously written by a white person and for the first few chapters it took me a while to even tell everyone apart because they sounded the same. It got way better as the book went on. I will be picking up the next book in the series.
One of my favorite series
I've started collecting this manga recently and it doesn't disappoint. An old favorite, it takes me back. I will definitely be getting the rest.

Quite frankly, this was an amazing book and I love the world. I haven't been this excited for the next book in a series like this since reading Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend. I wish this had been what I grew up with instead of other things I will not name. I definitely recommend this to everyone.
Rick Riordan Presents: Aru Shah and the End of Time-A Pandava Novel, Book 1 (Pandava Series) by Roshani Chokshi
This book was so fun to listen to. I got the audio version but I already know I need the entire series physically on my shelf. I would definitely recommend.
At first this was a 2 star read for me but as the story went on it got better and better. It's slow paced but as an epic fantasy reader that doesn't really bother me. I liked the worldbuilding and the magic system. I read alot of reviews saying the characters all sounded alike but I never had that problem. They all had different voices, hopes, and fears. It was the romance that almost made me dnf, but this is YA so I should have expected it. It happened way too fast between two characters that were literally swordfighting 3 chapters before. But by the end I really wanted to know where the story would go and immediately put book 2 in my Barnes and Noble cart lol. I will be buying book 2 and can only hope that the mediocre romance is put to side to focus on the story.
Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Book 2: Hammer of Thor, The-Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Book 2 by Rick Riordan
The 2nd book in the trilogy did not disappoint. I'm on to the 3rd book and I can't wait to see how this ends. This series has just reaffirmed my love for Norse Mythology. Like the Kane Chronicles I wish there were more books like it.
This was a great read. I devoured this book in 2 days and I don't regret it. When I learned there might be another book in this world or even a sequel I was so happy.
This is my first time reading the Kane Chronicles but I would definitely recommend it. I just never got around to it as a kid but even as an adult I really enjoyed this story. I was really drawn to it because of my love for Egyptian mythology. I loved Carter and Sadie, and found the story well written and engaging. As an African American there were certain points in the story that really resonated and then some things that made me cringe a bit but it didn't turn me off from the story. I will be jumping into book two next and I hope I continue to enjoy.
I'm a big fan of Norse mythology and I found myself really enjoying this book. I think I'll be continuing this series.
I devoured this book in a day. It makes me sad that there are no more novels centering on Sadie and Carter besides the side stories that mix them with Annabeth and Percy. I haven't read the Magnus Chase trilogy yet, but for right now I can say that the Kane Chronicles takes the top spot on my Riordan verse list.
I wasn't sure how I felt about this book when I started it but it quickly grew on me. I found worldbuilding great and I love a fantasy book with a good map of the world. Hessa is a well developed main character with a unique voice. Her emotions felt genuine and made sense, her grief and sense of betrayal felt real. She was also a total badass and what's not to love about that. But I also want to shout out her friend Sixnit who had her own strength and the ability to survive. She may not have been able to wield a weapon but she was going to do what she had to do. I would definitely recommend this book.
An even more exciting and emotional story than the first and I fully recommend it. I'm moving on to the final book in the trilogy and I can't wait to read it.
A pretty love story, good for a couple of days worth of distraction. Though not enough worldbuilding for my taste.
I received an early copy after watching one of my favorite book tubers Petrick. I found the story somewhat enjoyable but I struggled to finish. I can already tell I won't be picking this up or any of it's sequels. There were a lot of good ideas but it just didn't click for me.
The prose was good, the romance uninteresting, but the main character was likeable.
Edit 12/14/21 - ok I re-read the book because I wanted to give it another chance. While I won't increase my star rating I will say I would read the sequel because I want to see what happens next.

Thank Raziel this was better than City of Fallen Angels. I gave it a star just for that. But it was a really good story and I'm eager to see what happens in City of Heavenly Fire.
This book almost makes me hesitate to continue the series. This felt like such a step back in so many characters development its not even funny. Does Clare just enjoy torturing Jace and Clary? The angst and moping was just over the top. There was basically slut shaming in this book, almost biphobia, and other problematic things. I literally started skipping ahead in the book just to finish it quicker. I hope to God the rest are better. Alec is almost unrecognizable from his character in the red scrolls of magic and starting stupid fights with Magnus.
Sebastian/Jonathan didn't need to be resurrected. Lilith was an awesome evil villain and was more than enough for the next 3 books with her cult and what she was doing with the children. She was actually pretty damn scary. Isabelle and Maia are queens and deserve better. Luke remains the only reliable adult and he's not even really in the damn book.
This book only got two stars because of select moments and characters. This is the longest review/rant I've left on Goodreads, so at least Clare kept me interested. I will be finishing the TMI books because I'm a completionist but if I had to list the books by enjoyment this would be so far at the bottom behind books I haven't even read yet.

It feels good to return to the Legends verse. I find it hard to get into any of the new canon but Legends has very rarely let me down.
I devoured this book and I've already started on book 2.
I picked up this book and could not put it down. The first book was good but I will admit that it wasn't until the end of City of Ash that I was really hooked. I've already order the next one and I don't often commit to a series this long but Cassandra Clare has made a fan out of me.
It's good to see the gang again. I'm so glad that Dnd are moving away from the thing where they make an entire race evil. Jarlaxle and Zak remain some of my favorite characters and Cattie Brie has a bit more spotlight. I'm a little disappointed in the small amount of Drizzt and baby Brie I got in this book though. Hopefully that changes in the sequel.
This series has been on my TBR for years and I'm glad I finally got a chance to read it. I got the 10th anniversary edition with some pretty damn good illustrations. I found myself enjoying the series, laughing at all the particular teenage antics that I've since mostly grown out of and wanting to find out what happens next. As an adult reader this was a good YA novel.
