Interesting setting in the 1500s England. Expected more out of the story. Overall solid but not great.

Very easy, fast, enjoyable read with a good twist at the end (James is Huck's father). But with how well reviewed the book was, I did have higher expectations. Interesting setting though with slavery as the central theme. Enjoyed hearing it from James (the slaves) perspective

Liked that it was set in NYC but I think with this third book in the series I was just a bit bored of the story. First book was the best, then second.

Enjoyable read with a great ending (loved the part where Louise hosts everyone, both her family and the therapy group people, at her rooftop and everyone said words). Will's daughter, Lily, is a great character. I like how Lily ended up happy with Will's mom, her grandma. While I liked the ending more that the first book, the general build of the story throughout was not as good as what we got in the first book with the Will and Louisa dynamic. That said, good book but no need to read again.

Very sweet, positive and happy book (especially compared to the first book, It Ends With Us). At the end, the author noted that she didn’t want to write another sequel because she didn’t want to put Lily through more pain….and she didn’t. It was happy and about her and Atlas finally starting a love together. Ending was solid, but I think the final pages / remarks could have been stronger. First book was better, but this was a happier read
Really good romance novel. Page turner and easy reading style. Ryle is a douche but Lily is great and having Atlas as a side story is fun. Ending is hopeful and sets the stage for the sequel.
Really enjoyed this book, particularly the relationship and banter of the main character Louise Clark and Will Traynor. Louise had tremendous character development throughout the story. A lot of good moments along the way. Good plot building. Ending was sad, with Will still deciding to end his lie. Clark ended up visiting him before his death, accepting that it was his choice. She got some money from him and the book ended with her reading a letter in Paris where he tells her to go live her live. I bet if the ending was happy for the two of them I would have liked it more, but it made sense and was the right way to end. Wouldn’t need to read it again after having followed their story of falling together. Definitely hurt when Will said “it’s not enough for me” when Clark told him she loved him….point was he really didn’t like the man he was limited to be and didn’t want to accept being with her when he couldn’t be the person he wanted to be with her......(now after reading the sequel "After You", the ending makes more sense and is less sad)
Fun read, not as invigorating as the last romance book I read, but still good and deep characters. Happy ending which was nice. I liked the part where January reads all the birthday letters her dad wrote her but only gave to her after he died. Overall good book, happy to have read it, but not good enough to want to read again

Absolutely terrific last third of the book when Grace and Matt are adults and they realized their 15 years apart post college was more or less a consequence of bad timing and Matt's ex-wife hiding all communication. Matt learns of their daughter, Ash, and the ending is very sweet when they get married. Overall this is just a love story, but the ending was so good that I gave this a 4.5 as opposed to a 4 originally. Don't think I'd necessarily want to read it again given I know the story, but really good, fun, emotional read.

Very good book, a couple good twists and turns. Nice emotional ending. Tom, Isabel, and Lucy are a great family at first, and then the real mom Hannah comes into the story and things are flipped on their side. Great writer and style.
Very easy and quick read. Not as good as some of the other WWII books I've read (e.g., Beneath a Scarlett Sky, Nightingale), but an enjoyable book. Lale and Gita's love story is inspiring, and the setting of Auschwitz really holds you in given how tense and suspenseful it is. Happy ending.
Ok sports book, but not nearly as good as some others like Moneybag or the one about the Cubs. With that said, I read this book very sporadically over an ~6 month period. Enjoyed it since I love that 2016 Cavs/Lebron season and finals win.
Good read. Really like the author Kristin Hannah. The main character, Frankie, goes through so much. Favorite part was probably just seeing her journey and how she goes through ups and downs, but in the end learns to be at peace and calm her mind.
One of the better self-hep/spiritual books as it really best allows you to calm you mind and has one of the more realist approaches to spirituality. Book was suggested to me by Scotty Zech. Definitely has some elements I'd like to keep (be open, let go of thought/negativity, pain is the price of freedom, you are not the voice in your head, notice your energy, choose joy, find inner solutions instead of outer or worldly solutions)
Did not read consistently so maybe would have liked it more if so. Overall not too exciting and not relatable.
Very entertaining book. Loved the characters and the romance with Claire. The actual writing wasn't brilliant by any means, but the plot/story was very entertaining and it was a fun, quick, read that kept me wanting to continue. Definitely something good to say about a book like this.
Good book overall. Somewhat slow at times and the two main characters (Marie-Laure & Werner) only meet for a brief time at the end. The ending was relatively unsatisfying given the diamond is left in the sea, Werner dies shortly after leaving Marie-Laure, and Marie-Laure lives old with a family, but not much else to her. Wanted more connection of her and Werner in the end, but it was very limited to "He's a good guy because he left the diamond in the sea". Still enjoyed the ready.

I didn't love this book, but also was in and out of reading it (wasn't consistent). Each chapter went through a month of the season so I didn't like the direction of the book. Felt like there was no big pictures and much of the same until the playoff chapters which were better. I also already knew the Jordan story so that was probably some of it.
This was an ok book. I heard that it was amazing so my expectation let it become a bit of a letdown. Overall happy to have ready it, but wanted more juice out of it in general. Guess mainly just on the connection/relatability aspect. Joe Madden was a good character and the first half was cool seeing how Theo Epstein contracted the team.
Really enjoyed it. Easy to read and good story. Love the characters Jack and Allison and their romance. Goo nature elements, suspense, and an action filled ending. Not too much substance and probably more depth in the first book (The River), but still a great read.
Great book. Amazing storytelling and loved the character. Great mix is action, survival, suspense. Everything was wrapped up well at the end. The ending paragraph was incredible. Very emotional ending. Would rate it higher if I could relate more (probably more of a love story, but then again it was there between friends - Wynn and Jack)
This was an alright book. Interesting as the setting was an Africa safari, but overall a bit unbelievable and basically half of it was cutting back to the past or before the trip, so had to go through a lot of boring parts to get back to the action. Solid twist at the end though.
I think I'm a bit too old for this story. Enjoyed the writing style and slang, but overall not the most interesting plot for me. Holden is a mess and it's not clear what he learns or if he'll actually change at the end. He's afraid of growing up...
Very light, easy, quick read. Funny at times, but I thought the Colin Jost book was much funnier. Always good to sprinkle in a comedy book or something different from what I usually read.
Really good book. Great author and writing style. Really allows you to visualize the story and each scene. Pi is a likable character. Twist at the end when you realized real people actually represent the animals in Pi's story.
Was a good and enjoyable quick read. I remembered it being better or more interesting and having more depth to it. Overall still solid and a classic. Gatsby is pretty ridiculous and you start to see how he thinks the future will be what the past once was, but he starts to realized (although still in denial), that that cannot be and that Daisy has had a life outside of Gatsby. Happy to have read the book again.

Good storytelling for a finance book. At the end of the day, still a finance book so not super interesting. Learned a lot though and the CEO Ross Johnson. was an interesting character. Fun to read when the LBO bidding occurred.

Very slow and drawn out book. First half is all about how the family lives and doesn't know much about their mom. Second half finally gets into Leningrad storytelling. Happy ending, but overall too dry of a book. Was disappointed given how much I like the author.
Solid book. Enjoyed the first half where Ben Horowitz told the story of founding his company and the lessons learned. Second half off the book was more management tutorial and CEO development messages, which I enjoyed and learned things from, but overall wanted more storytelling (I read this book because it was supposed to be similar to the Bob Igor Disney book).

Really good book about a family moving to Alaska. Leni is a very likable character. Great storytelling, the setting in Alaska is well described. Awesome ending. Overall very well done novel, if I related to it more I would have ratted its higher. Love this author.
