This story takes place in Germany in the early 1500's. A small village has suffered through many years of famine and is now at the breaking point.,
Who is to blame? How does one survive? Where do your loyalties belong? Mailman answers all these and more . I will definately look for more books by this author.
I received this book awhile back as part to the early review program on Library Thing. The title and concept drew me quickly to this book. I was somewhat disappointed that the strory and characters lacked depth, I felt that there was a part of the story that was not included in my book. What I really would like to see is a sequel that will help to answer all the questions that this reader is left with . Would recommend this to those who enjoy beautiful language.

I enjoyed this book, it did take several chapters to take hold. It is not as strong a book as Waiting for Elephants but a good read.
The information on the Great Apes was great. They were some of the more enjoyable characters in the book.
Loved the voice of this book until the very end.
