The plot is getting tired - the Bobsy Twins of homicide strike again, but eh ending is very suspenseful, and there is a bit of the supernatural tucked into the story. I still love his descriptions, though, of the bayous and the thoughts and motivations, even the speech patterns of the characters.
I'd recommend it for people who love his use of our language more than for the plot (except for the ending).

Not his best, but I'd still recommend this book about a half-thai detective in Bangkok, whose mother owns a whorehouse... light and funny with good cultural insights.
A fantastic book, impossible to put down, with a very unusual plot. Protagonist is classic depressive Scandinavian, but very likeable.
Typically depressive Scandinavian protagonist, but a good rea, his books are hard to put down.
