Love, love, love it. John Green has become one of my favorite authors. Looking for Alaska is a wonderful coming of age novel that instantly makes you fall in love with all the main characters. Yes, it is somewhat somber towards the end, but all books can not have the "happily ever after" approach. Green takes real-life drama and pulls you in till the very end.
I was led to this book after I read the Book Thief by the same author. I had high hopes since I instantly feel in love with Zusak's writing style. This one was much different, but still very noteworthy. However, nothing has seemed to top the Book Thief.
This book is amazing. It instantly became one of my all-time favorites. The way Zusak uses "death" as the narrator is unique and adds so much to the depth of the novel. It also gives an original incite to the feelings of the average German during the Holocaust. It is in the category of young adult, but can be enjoyed by much older adults. I guarantee if you read it, you will love it!
