Another Day, Another Partner by debut author Rachel Mucha grabs you from the beginning. Luciana Martinelli – Lulu to her family is a police officer in a tiny police department in Portsmouth, Rhode Island and her father is her boss! He’s assigned her a new partner Dominick Delgado (“just call me Dom”). To say she is not happy about this, is an understatement – she’d prefer to work alone.
Well written and enjoyable, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy. I for one am looking forward to the next Luciana Martinelli!

Now assign her to a station run by the man she had a one night stand with. And that’s just the beginning of the book! Sinclair Jayne is now on my list of authors to watch!
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I started this series with Kiss of Crimson, the third book in the Midnight Breed series. As soon as I finished it, I picked up the first two books, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Normally, I steer clear of paranormal books, especially if they concern vampires, but the world Adrian has created has many of the elements I enjoy in a romance/romantic suspense book. The focus on a main couple, their budding relationship, their happily ever after and strong storyline. With Crave the Night, the Breed have a new enemy that threatens not only their very existence, but the human world as well. Highly recommend!
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I love a really good suspenseful mystery with a good blend of romantic tension thrown in and Allison Brennan’s new book, Notorious, does that and more. Sometimes, the first book in a new series can be a little tedious, introducing the concept and the characters, but hang in there, it really picks up from that point on. I have to say, for me, the story really kicked in with the first face to face meeting between Max Revere, the main character & Detective Nick Santini. The tension Brennan created between these two was so palpable, you could cut it with a knife and you just knew the sparks were going to fly.
Brennan usually writes with a gritty and often times graphic style, but Notorious had an element of humor I really enjoyed. Highly recommend!

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Suzanne Brockmann's latest book, Do or Die, starts out with a bang and ends with "on the edge of your seat" tension. Things get a little slow in the middle of the book, but hang in there, you will soon find yourself caught up in this race against time to save the lives of two children. Along the way, we are introduced to a whole new cast of characters, who will hopefully get their own stories soon. If you loved Brockmann’s Troubleshooters books, you’ll love the start of The Reluctant Heroes series.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Samantha Wilde, an Atlanta police detective, has become involved with Dr. Quinn Braddock who has his own secrets and shares very little personal information with her. When his ex-wife is murdered and the police question Quinn, Samantha allows doubt to creep in, destroying their relationship. Devastated, Sam leaves the Atlanta police force and moves back to Midnight, Alabama to work with the new security agency she and her sisters have opened.
When Quinn learns that Samantha worked day and night to prove his innocence, he regrets how he treated her and goes to Midnight to try and make things right. Little does he know that the evil has followed them both to Midnight.
Once again, Ella Grace has a winner with her second installment in the Wildefire series. I just hope Sabrina’s book will be out soon!

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This is the first book I've read by Erica Spindler, but I can assure you it won't be the last! Having read several glowing reviews, I picked this book up, and even though I have a huge TBR pile, I started Justice for Sara immediately & was instantly hooked. It's been a while since I've read anything that grabbed me from the opening words & didn't let go until the last page. I was swept into the story & the characters lives feeling every emotional, nail biting, sit on the edge of your seat moment. Just when you thought you had it all figured out, something else came to light that totally blew that theory! And just in case you can't tell....I loved this book! If you like a really good, suspenseful mystery with a little romance that in no way overshadows the plot, then you will not want to miss Justice for Sara!
I have not read Catherine Coulter before but I have read & been a long time fan of J. T. Ellison’s. I did not recognize much of Ellison’s style in The Final Cut so I’m assuming it was more in the style of Coulter’s writing. The book started out great and drew me in quickly, but became bogged down with too many tedious details, history and information. I found the characters and dialogue a little stiff and formal, but once I got into the rhythm of it, I really enjoyed the story. I actually found the character, “The Fox,” fascinating and more interesting than the main characters. This was an advanced uncorrected proof, so I’m hoping the final version will be shortened and some of the unnecessary details and characters edited out, which would then make this a very good book. If you’re a fan of Coulter’s FBI series, then you will enjoy The Final Cut – the first book in the Nicholas Drummond series.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. There are plenty of secrets in the small town of Midnight, Alabama and many of them are about to be revealed. Eighteen years ago, a family’s life as they knew it came to a screeching halt. Maggie and Beckett Wilde were young, beautiful, rich and perfect; perfect marriage, perfect family. Or was it? While their three young daughters are away at camp, Maggie & Beckett’s perfect life comes to an end. Their deaths are ruled a murder/suicide and Savannah, Samantha and Sabrina Wilde are never the same.
Savannah Wilde, taking a leave of absence from her job in Nashville, returns to Midnight to begin cleaning out the old home place after her grandfather’s death. She knows she will have to deal with Zach Tanner, now the chief of police and the man who broke her heart ten years ago. What secrets tore them apart? What secrets will Savannah’s search through her family home reveal? And what other secrets in Midnight will be discovered before Savannah and Zach can find some peace in their lives and hopefully find their way back to each other?
Ella Grace's first book in the Wilde sisters trilogy is a winner and I can't wait to read the next book.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Linda Howard is my all time favorite author and when I sit down to read one of her books, I want to take my time and savor every word. It’s what I intended to do when I started Shadow Woman, but the mystery and suspense drew me in quickly and I couldn't slow down – just had to find out what was going on!
I own and have read every single book she has written – some I thought were better than others, but even a “not her best book” is better than a lot of other authors. Has her writing changed over the years? Yes, and thank God for that! Her first books I loved when I read them years ago. Now, while I still have those books, (and intend to keep them) things sure have changed since the early 1980’s! However, there are “favorites” I re-read and now, Shadow Woman will be among them.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Up until now, Carlin Reed has lived a pretty quiet and ordinary life. That is until she goes out with Brad a couple of times. She can tell he’s bad news, but she didn’t know just how bad until one of her friends ends up dead. Carlin flees and lives under the radar trying not to leave any trail. When she ends up in Battle Ridge and begins to make a new life for herself, she knows she must confront her stalker.
Running Wild is the first book in a new series by Linda Howard and Linda Jones and if this is any indication of what’s to come, I can’t wait for the next book.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I always look forward to a new Karen Robards book coming out. She’s one of the few authors who still write that perfect blend of suspense and romance. With The Last Victim, she introduces an interesting paranormal element that I really enjoyed. I’m not sure what direction she is taking these characters, but I do know I want to read about them again. I hope a sequel is in the works – highly recommend this book.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Mariah Stewart has another winner with Home for the Summer. I enjoyed Lucy and Clay’s story and catching up with familiar characters from the previous books. This is a wonderful addition to the Chesapeake Diary series and I highly recommend it.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. It’s almost Christmas in Grizzly Falls, Montana, where the winters are brutal and the killers even more so. Detectives Selena Alvarez and Regan Pescoli must work around the clock to stop this killer, all while still dealing with their personal lives. The background history of the main characters is interwoven into the story so that reading the previous books is not necessary. However, after you read Afraid to Die, I am sure you will want to. Lisa Jackson is one of my favorite authors, and she never disappoints. Highly recommend this book.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This is a hard review for me to do because I love Suzanne Brockmann. She is an amazing storyteller. I especially love her Troubleshooters series and when I requested a copy of Born to Darkness, I was interested in where she was going to take this. While I did not like it as much as her romantic suspense books, I believe readers who like urban fantasy will probably enjoy it.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Taylor Jackson just can’t seem to catch a break. She has just come off a violent, emotionally disturbing investigation, when she and her team are plunged back into an equally horrifying set of murders. The Pretender is back and this time he won’t quit until he has destroyed Taylor and all she holds dear.
Longtime readers will have the answers to some of their questions, but many more will arise. J. T. Ellison does a magnificent job of luring the reader in and leaving them gasping – making it even harder to wait for the next Taylor Jackson book.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Whether you are a long time reader of Susan Elizabeth Phillips or reading her for the first time, you are in for a treat with CALL ME IRRESISTIBLE. Welcome to Wynette, Texas where everyone knows everyone. What’s great about this book is being able to catch up with many favorite characters from some of Phillips previous books while enjoying Ted and Meg’s romance. This is a fun and enjoyable read-you won’t be disappointed. Loved it!
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Make sure you have plenty of time when you pick up Linda Castillo’s second book in the Kate Burkholder series, because once started, you will not be able to put it down. Once again, the small Amish town of Painter’s Mill, Ohio is rocked to the core – this time by the brutal slaying of an entire Amish family. Kate and her small team of police officers work around the clock to find the killers along with the help of FBI agent John Thomasetti. If possible, this book was even better than the first one and I really hope the next Kate Burkholder book will be out soon.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Chasing the Night is Iris Johansen at her finest and the best book in the Eve Duncan forensic series in a while. While the story focuses on a new character, Catherine Ling and her mission in life to find her son, Luke, there is still plenty of Eve, Joe and Bonnie. If you’ve read the previous books, you will still find Eve’s long obsession with finding Bonnie’s body, so she can “bring her home” and how this obsession affects her life with Joe. Catherine Ling will have a strong impact on Eve and Joe’s relationship and the hunt for Bonnie’s killer. This is a must read for fans of the Eve Duncan series. You will not want to miss it.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This is the first Elizabeth Lowell book I’ve read in a number of years and the first in the St. Kilda series. I enjoyed the book enough to want to read some of the earlier books in the series. However, if you’re expecting a true romantic suspense book, you’ll be disappointed. I would categorize this book as more of a suspense/espionage thriller with a little, very little, romantic element. With that said, the writing was good and the story held my attention enough that I wanted to keep reading to see what was going to happen. I would definitely recommend the book and I would be interested in reading the next installment in the St. Kilda series.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Kylie McGraw has put her dreams on hold for her family, several times, and so on the night of her 32nd birthday, she has a bit too much to drink and decides it's time to shake things up. What follows is sometimes humorous, sometimes sad and about half way through the book, suspenseful; which is when the story really kicked in for me.
The book has the regular clichés of many romances - the big city burned out cop returning to his small hometown and the younger sister’s crush on her brother’s best friend among them. Yet, Beth Ciotta makes them fresh and quite fun to read.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. It’s been a while since I’ve read any books by Mariah Stewart. After reading, Coming Home, I want to go back and read the books I’ve missed; I enjoyed this book that much.
I liked the characters, the interactions between them and the small town in the fictional St. Dennis, Maryland on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. When the next book in the series comes out, I’ll be rushing to the bookstore to get it – can’t wait to see what’s been happening in St. Dennis and how everyone is doing.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Lisa Jackson is an auto buy author for me and never disappoints. Without Mercy is no exception. The story itself was riveting, but one of the things I like about her writing is the characters she creates in her books. You will find that her heroes and heroines are never perfect, but flawed in many ways. Even the villains are not always pure evil.
I am always trying to figure out "who done it" when reading murder/mysteries and sometimes I'm successful, but this time, I was so not expecting the ending. Great read!

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I have some other books I really wanted to read, but felt like I had to read Lake Magic since I received it through the early reviewers group. So I thought I’d read this, get it out of the way, and get to the book I’d rather be reading. A funny thing happened about a fourth of the way through the book – I found myself really enjoying it.
Jenny Beckinsale and Jared Worth are two lost souls who find their way to each other after the death of Jenny’s fiancé, Steven. I found myself irritated by their actions and their immaturity at first, but also rooting for them to get past the tragedies they each had faced in life and find each other.
If you like contemporary romances with a little family saga, pick up a copy of Lake Magic – you won’t be disappointed.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Deadly Force: Firearms and American Law Enforcement, from the Wild West to the Streets of Today (General Military) by Chris McNab
Deadly Force is an informative narration of the evolution of the use of force with firearms by law enforcement. The book had several pictures that would have been very interesting if only there had been captions explaining them.
I found the book to read very much like a text book, which I struggled with some, but I can see where this book would appeal to those who have an interest in firearms and law enforcement.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Truly a fun, delightful and entertaining read. This book has a little something for everyone - romance, humor, mystery, murder, psychics, matchmaking and good writing.
After reading this advanced copy, I had to ask myself if I would have bought this book and my answer would be a resounding, "Yes!"
I loved Truly, Madly and will be looking for the next book in this series.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Having read most of Linda Castillo's romantic suspense paperback books, I wasn't sold on the idea of her being published in hardback. I was wrong. This is a riveting book with a fresh premise on the police procedural suspense. The main characters, as well as many of the secondary characters, are fully fleshed - flaws and all. The story was a little slow in getting started, but hang in there, it is well worth it. I look forward to the next Kate Burkholder book and I hope it's soon.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I enjoyed the first three books in this series, but was really disappointed in this one and had a hard time finishing it. The premise of the story was good, but the dialogue and actions of supposedly intelligent people was, at times, immature and childish. I don't care for the direction in which she has taken the two main characters. Pretty much, I'm sorry to say, I just didn't even care to finish the book. Still, I'll probably read her next book and hope it will be as good as the first three books in the series.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.PJ Sugar's life is a mess, but sometimes, in this quirky town of Kellogg, she seems to be the only one who has it all together. Told entirely from PJ's point of view, the book regales us with PJ's often humorous past transgressions, becoming a Christian and returning to Kellogg for the first time in 10 years.
Along the way, we are introduced to PJ’s family and friends, learn the reasons for her return and enjoy all of it as she tries to help a friend prove her husband’s innocence, watch over her nephew and try to make things right for everyone.
The Christian message is subtle, never “preachy”, and just right. Susan May Warren has a winner with the start of the PJ Sugar series; I can’t wait for the next installment!

Tom is a former cop convicted of the murder of his wife & her lover fifteen years ago. During an earthquake at San Quentin, he grabs the opportunity, along with other prisoners, to escape. He would like to find proof of his innocence, but mainly, he doesn't want to die with his daughter, Claire still believing he killed her mother. Claire has never forgiven or spoken to her father since his conviction and when he makes contact with her, she is shaken, but begins to doubt his guilt. In the meantime, Mitch Bianchi, an FBI agent, has gotten close to her, hoping she will lead him to her father.
This is a good suspense story with a complicated conspiracy. I found it a little hard to keep all the characters straight, but I did enjoy the book. One of the things I like about Brennan's books is the recurring characters. I enjoy being able to see the progression of their lives and learning about other characters before they get their own stories. I have been a fan of Allison Brennan's books from the beginning. She is an auto buy author for me and I'm looking forward to her next book.
