I really enjoyed this book. It's more of a family drama than an exciting mystery but that's just fine. The story explores relationships between mother-in-laws and daughter-in-laws and mothers and children. Told from different points of view; it is a fast and easy read.I especially liked that the author didn't have her characters cursing a lot. I would read this author again!
I enjoyed this book but agree with other reviewers that the people weren't all that likeable and rather stereotyped. I was disappointed because I really liked the idea of the book. The writing was easy and a fast read.
The cursing was excessive (mostly J/JC). When the author used JFC, as a Christian reader, that did it for me. I did not finish the book.

I enjoyed this adolescent mystery. It's basically about 5 students in detention, one dies, and the rest fall under suspicion of murder.
I liked the premise of the book. I enjoyed learning about each character. I liked the format of the book where each character speaks in turn. My only real complaint is the use of GD and JC a lot. Using those words as curse words always bothers me a lot.

I have enjoyed all of the Vera Stanhope mysteries. This one begins with Vera meeting a former colleague who is now in jail. This former cop has information about a dead body so of course Vera has to investigate.
The character of Vera is what keeps me coming back to these books and the strength of the writing.

Pretty good book but not as good as the first. It is best to read her first book before reading this one.
Making Masterpiece: 25 Years Behind the Scenes at Sherlock, Downton Abbey, Prime Suspect, Cranford, Upstairs Downstairs, and Other Great Shows by Rebecca Eaton
It's a behind the scenes look at Ms. Eaton's work for Masterpiece and the shows she produces. It's fun to read about the shows and their stars I have loved watching through the years. Definitely worthwhile to Masterpiece watchers.
Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and the Dawn of the Modern Woman by Sam Wasson
Great book on the making of the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's. Very fast read.
I really enjoyed this book that chronicles the life of a family settling Florida in 1800's. Very realistic.
Living La Dolce Vita: Bring the Passion, Laughter and Serenity of Italy into Your Daily Life by Raeleen D'Agostino Mautner
A petty cute book. A lot I've read before. The "money chapter" was good.
This was an enjoyable book. I love reading about France and this was an interesting look at France from an American's point of view.
While this book was interesting and a fast read, it was not my style of book.
I loved this book. The Major was a delight. A book with themes of older love, son and father relationships, racial issues, small town life, traditions. . .
I really enjoyed the book. Jane was a likeable character who ran a dress shop in a small town in England. I enjoyed watching her grow into a great business woman and her observations of small town life.
This is the 6th, I believe, in the series. As always I am pleased with the mystery, but really love to read about Maisie's life as well. I've gotten to know and really like the characters that appear in each book.
This is a story of a 50 yr. old woman, Alice, who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer' disease. It is a journey of her illness' progression, her struggle to deal with it, and her family's reaction. It was an excellent story, a very fast read, and I learned a lot.
The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag: A Flavia de Luce Mystery (Flavia De Luce Mysteries) by Alan Bradley
I liked this second book in the series but not as much as the first. Flavia was hard for me to really like as a character this time.
A wonderful book about female friendship, class, fossils, British life in the 1800's, love
Enjoyed the book but didn't love it. I would try another of this author's books though because a lot people rave about her.
The Beekeeper's Apprentice: Or On the Segregation of the Queen/A Novel of Suspense Featuring Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes (Mary Russell Novels) by Laurie R. King
I enjoyed this book although there were some slow parts. I love the time period and the characters. It's the first in a series and I would read another I think. Definitely well-written.
I really enjoyed this book and learning about Kirk's Hollywood/Christian experience.
I liked this book but didn't love it. Just like D. Sayer's other book I read, it kept me interested but I wasn't left satisfied for some reason.
As always, Agatha Christie doesn't disappoint. I enjoyed this book a lot. It was fast paced and suspenseful.
I enjoyed this book. The time period is right after WWII. The main character is Ian Rutledge who works for Scotlad Yard and has to solve a series of murders. well-written. I would read another by this author.
Pretty good book. I always like to read about women who have accomplished a lot.
I liked this book. The story moved at a nice pace. It had a good setting. The characters were likeable enough. It just didn't "WOW" me.
I loved this book so much. The setting and characters, the unique plot. It was a sweet story.
