What a great book! It shows how the choices we make aren't black and white, how your personal and public life aren't always known to even those closest to you. I definitely wasn't expecting the ending, but thinking about it now, it was perfect. The whole book was wonderfully written, especially chapter 7, which kind of speeds you through the aftermath of what has happened in short parts, giving various points of view through tweets, articles, tv and all the major characters.

I hated pretty much everyone in this book, they're all just horrible people who behave in ridiculous ways. The wife who freaks out about microdosing lsd, punishes her husband for over a year about it, then has an affair is the worst. The teenagers are, well, acting like teenagers I guess, so I can kind of give them a pass for the stupid things they do. And on the last page, you find out that Hannah has learned nothing at all. It kept me interested, so it's not a completely bad book, just not great.

I thought I would really like this book, but the writing is just so bad and juvenile it really takes away from the story. I get that this is a YA book, but so is the hunger games trilogy, and I liked the writing in those books. I think the author just dumbed himself down too much.
This is an amazingly good book, I can't recommend it enough! The writing is great, and all the characters are wonderfully fleshed out, I really cared about everyone in the book. All the different quirks and problems the characters face feel real, and, well, just go and read this, I honestly can't believe this hasn't been picked up by a publisher yet.

When this book is released in April, go buy it immediately. This is up there with 1984 in the dystopian genre, beautifully written and it goes into the horrors of war and what you're willing to do to survive. I'd love it if the author does another book focusing more on the plague years, as I think theres still more to this future he's made. Loved it.

I love the illustrations in this book, very well done, and they match atwoods alliterative wordplay very well. The three stories are best when read aloud, my kids liked the rude ramsay one the best. I'm not really sure what age group this is for, as it has lots of big words that younger kids can't really sound out, but I really enjoyed this book.

I loved the choose your own adventure books when I was a kid, and now I love them as an adult thanks to this book. It's really hilarious, and you end up in really bizarre situations that usually don't end well. So far I've went out to chop a christmas tree, and ended up questioning my own sexuality with a bruised kidney, I've spent a night at a motel and ended up knocking out a diabetic with incontinence issues, and I've been robbed by my taxi driver in jamaica while I was on the toilet. I can't recommend this book enough, I love it!
This is just horrible. The author really hates India for some reason, and while he makes some good points about life there, the book just hates on the country. The writing is horrible, as is the grammar. This isn't a book, it's a diatribe against a country by a well meaning, hate filled man.

It's an interesting read, but the writer is obviously a huge fan of Ortega, the book is skewed heavily in favour of everything he does. A good history of the revolution in Nicaragua though.

Go out and buy this book as soon as it comes out, it is so good! The characters are really brought alive by the author, the plot is spot on and I couldn't put it down. I wanted to just start reading it again as soon as I finished, I didn't want to leave the people and places the author created.

I wasn't really into the book when I first started reading it, Isabel came off as whiny and she acted like a little kid to get her way. As I kept reading I began to enjoy it more, and overall it was a decent book. Near the end I genuinely didn't know what would happen with the girl, the author kept you guessing.

This was a really well written, exciting book. There are lots of twists and turns, and it keeps you guessing right up to the last few pages. Any fan of mystery or whodunnits will love this book. The pill popping sister is a really fleshed out character, and you will probably never guess who the killer is.

This is a great book for anyone starting out with wild food.It focuses on a few of the most common plants and has multiple pictures of each stage of growth, making identification really easy.Would highly recommend.
I only made it a quarter way through this book, I just didn't care about any of the characters, it was just boring. You might like it if you're in to cricket, or if you've been to India, neither of which applies to me.

Smile by Roddy Doyle
This was an alright book, but I was pretty confused after reading it. What was real? anything? Anyways, I really like his writing style, and I liked the humour sprinkled throughout. So, it was kind of a weird read, but I liked it.

This book was really boring and repetitive, it's pretty much the same story for each lodge, so and so owned it, then this guy bought it, then she bought it, now its abandoned. I think if you live in the parts of the country this book describes, or if you know some of the people, you'll enjoy it much more than me. Some of the photos were pretty cool though, so... yeah.

Well, I just realized I'm a walking stephen king novel, being 6 feet tall and 129 pounds. I haven't scared anyone away yet, but according to this book it's just a matter of time. Anyways, this was a 5 star book until the last few pages, when he threw away everything he had been working towards. Just a horrible ending.
What an awesome book! It always kept me guessing, and you slowly get to know the two main characters backstory, which makes them more fleshed out and real. It seems the author really researched what london would have been like in the 1800s, because all the people and places he described seemed entirely real. The ending really worked well, and I hope there are more books about arrowood.

Big Book of WHY Activity Book (A TIME For Kids Book) (TIME for Kids Big Books) by The Editors Of Time For Kids
This is a pretty standard edutainment book for kids, lots of neat facts and puzzles to keep them occupied on summer break. Whenever I heard I'm bored I'd give this to my son, and it held his attention for a little while, while my younger daughter liked the colouring parts, and the connect the dots.

this is a great, fast paced dystopian book. It really kept my interest throughout, and the premise sounded kind of dumb at first, but as you go along it starts to make sense. The only thing I would change is the epilogue, which focuses on what I think is a secondary character, I never really cared about her, but she is integral to the story. I would have much rather caught up with the other kidnapees, or Andy actually, you never really dive into his backstory. Anyways, pick it up for a good light read.

so, my son just read this to me, here's his review.
It was a little silly.I liked the pictures. It was funny. And thats it.
It was a pretty good book, my son definitely has a snurtch, and he actually kind of agreed with me, which was amazing.

So I had my seven year read this to me, and his thoughts are that the book is for babies, because the book asks you to tilt it on a few pages, and it has pretend buttons on the pages that you are asked to push. I can kind of see his point, as he's a bit out of the age range ( the inside cover says for ages 3-6).
I then read it to my 5 year old, who also didn't like the fake button concept. They both liked the drawings, and the story teaches them about some issues affecting the planet. I think 2 or 4 year olds would like the interactive elements, but 5 or 6 year olds are at the age where they want to be big kids, and big kids books don't have buttons.

I made it about halfway through this, and it is pretty much unreadable. The writing is just so bad, and the story is just, I don't know, it's just stupid. The illustrations are ok, not great. Flipping through the last half, it looks like it might get a bit better, but I'm not going to waste my time.
I really liked this book, the author really makes everyone come to life, and I got drawn into all the struggles everybody went through. The book spans decades, but the passage of time is really well done, and it was neat to see how everyone changes (or doesn't, in a couple cases) as they age. definitely pick this up when it's released.

This was an ok book, something to pass the time when you're bored. It kind of gave me a look into the upper class of the usa, how obsessed they are with every new thing, and how hard people work to stay their version of healthy. The characters all felt real and fleshed out, I can picture real people out there actually act like these characters.

So, this is a really good science fiction novel, most of the stuff happening and the environment on the moon seem pretty realistic to me, something we could do within a hundred years if we set our minds on it. It also points out the troubles of trying to live on the moon very well, the wears and tears of living on the moon and going back and forth to earth, the effects on the body and even the psyche. Really well written, my one complaint is the sheer number of characters in the book, there has got to be at least 50 different people who have a part in the story, and I still can't really keep track of who is who. Overall a really well done novel.

this is really good, it's a mystery inside a mystery, trying to figure out who the fake killer is and who the real killer is. It says on the back that it's for ages 12 and up, but I thought it held up pretty good for being a middle grade book, the story is very captivating and I never got bored reading this.

It's a pretty quick read, but packed with lots of adventure, I highly recommend.

This was a pretty good whodunnit, I was convinced that someone did it, but then I was horribly wrong. I haven't read any other of these books, but it works well as a standalone novel, I had no problem figuring out the characters and their relationships.
I kind of won this from a goodreads giveaway, I entered for Among The Wicked, and won, but was sent this book instead, so I'll be getting an email asking me to rate Among The Wicked when I never received it, which kind of sucks.

This was actually a pretty decent book, it kept you interested throughout and the writing was well done. If you're into kind of a twilight like romance/supernatural book you'll probably love this. You can definitely tell that this was written for teenage girls, but it still kept me entertained.
