A sweet holiday romance with a few recipes thrown in as well. Lighthearted and sweet and a very quick read.
A sweet romance. Cassie goes to see her matchmaker Simon. While her best friend seems to have a new mysterious beau. Yes it is predictable, but it doesn't matter because it is a sweet story and a quick read.
So the sixth book...once I picked it up, I couldn't stop. Ward manages to once again captivate and keep us begging for more. The story of Phury and Cormia didn't seem to be as main-stage as the romance has been in previous books, but this didn't take away from the story. It was action packed, moving quickly and seamlessly between characters. Another fine example of why this series is so great!
Paul and Cory were great. Love at first sight, well if nothing else definitely lust a first sight. Paul has come to Willow Bend to start over after loosing his lover a year ago. He meets Cory on his first night and the attraction is instantaneous. Their love story is great, not all sunshine and roses. Cory is working his tale off to take care of his ailing mother. The two together can help each other move forward.
Interesting beginning to a series. Sarah and Damon were interesting together, although Sarah seemed a little too perfect. I quick read at 100 pages. And interesting enough for me to go find the next in the series.
Wow...I wasn't sure what to expect. What I got wasn't what it was, this is paranormal in a whole new light. If you enjoy m/m romance, and paranormal this is a MUST. Ally Blue writes in a way, that you are right there with the action. You are in Oleander House, you feel what's happening, and you know what you want to happen. While Ally doesn't necissarily give you what you want, she gives you what you need. And you will be looking forward to the next installment with as much interest as I am. So please, read and enjoy.
I’ve heard it described as crack, but didn’t understand…that is until I read it. I don’t believe that I have ever…EVER read anything that touched me so much. I’ve read “great literature” the “classics” and I have to say that this ranks far above them. Generally I finish a book and move onto the next, but somehow I feel that it would belittle the experience that I just had with Dark Lover. JD Ward writes in a way I have never experienced, because for the first time in my reading history I have finally felt what it is to truly read a novel. It wasn’t a romance; it wasn’t suspense, or paranormal fiction. This was a work of pure genius, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. I don’t believe that I have ever felt as though I knew characters in a novel before, but…OMG…I feel it this time. I care about everyone I met in this book, whether I want them dead or alive, I felt like they were real. The history of the vampires in this weren’t what you’ve read before…those have NOTHING on what this was. Do not walk to your local book store, run, drive (and speed) to your local bookseller. This isn’t a book you should read…this is a book you HAVE to read!
This really didn't do it for me. The first story was just off somehow, perhaps it was just the characters, Maid spies hunk, waits til employer goes out of town to woo him with employers stuff...maid had run from ex so she's lonely as she doesn't want him to find her...
The second story was better, but it left me feeling bored, I realized that I was skimming to get to the end...Bri was raped by fiance goes home to find old boyfriend so he can fix her...
The third story was my favorite...she has writers block and a deadline so her agent sends her to his cabin...of course its a set up as he knows his neighbor Mac will be there, Mac and chick (can't remember her name) get it on...etc.
The last was a SEAL story...again I was skimming just to finish, and it probably wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't then said that the SEAL Reno was in the Army. Now I will admit that I am a Navy brat so I was royally pissed about this. I can handle a little mess up, but a Navy SEAL in the Army?!?!?! All in all if you're looking for sex its all right, otherwise move on Soldier.

MJD has once again given me an evening of humor. So after Betsy has just about the worst possible day ever (on her birthday no less) she caps it off with dying. She wakes up a few days later (not something typical for a dead person she realizes) and so begins her hysterical journey in the Twin Cites. Upon waking up she is pretty sure someone (namely God) has messed up as she remembers dying and is clearly not. After trying a number of times to correct this oversight and speaking with a minister she decides that perhaps she is where she belongs. While I can see where this could technically be called romance, I would put it in humor or chick lit. There were several times I was laughing out loud and sharing lines with anyone around to hear me. If you are looking for a quick easy read that is a great escape I would definitely recommend. It’s a bit silly, and ridiculous, the great American novel it is not…what it is, is light and refreshing like a cool glass of iced tea on a hot day!
Marljas and Sheala, we met them in Brianna and for the first part of this book the stories were overlapping. Because of this you could read this as a stand alone (although I think it would be a shame to miss Brianna's spirit). I thought this was okay, Sheala is kidnapped and raped, Marljas saves her, at which time Sheala marries Marljas. Then Sheala has to get over her fear of intimacy (which might not be so bad if she wasn't a Drakian, with a culture known for hedinism). The struggles that Shea and Marl go through are believable, and the worlds that are painted by Mays are very interesting.
This and Brianna were not the first two sci-fi romance that I read, but of what I've read they have felt like sci-fi (something I appreciate). Upon finishing this I went to the Ms. Mays website to find out when/if there will be another, and I was both delighted and disapointed a new one will be released mid-June but it focuses on Meri so it will be more of a prequil. Thing is I know that Meri will end ulp with Ademis I want to know about Ban, and Sosha, and if Deni's baby is a girl...

Brianna of Earth tries to save 2 aliens from certain death (dissection). She ends up on the spaceship with the aliens and must be saved from having experiments done on her. All in all the sci-fi romantica was an enjoyable read with well explored characters and races. If this is a series, I will definitely check out the next one! Major gripe with this is the cover!
Morgan is being stalked so she runs from LA to Houston at the request of her secret half brother. While in Houston, she meets with a famous Dom, Master J. While meeting Master J to discuss a perspective episode on her show her stalker decides to shoot her. Jack aka Master J is also one of the best bodyguards there are, so he decides to protect Morgan.
I loved this story from beginning to end, I usually don't agree with the Praise for the books that other authors share, this time, every piece of praise I completely agreed with. I read this in one sitting, because I couldn't put it down. It was incredibly steamy and incredibly romantic. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a little non-vanilla erotica (although it is pretty tame with only light BDSM and one menage m/f/m scene).

Alpha by Treva Harte
The three stories in Alpha were disappointingly disjointed and choppy. There were times were you could feel your head spinning. The really sad thing is...the stories were good, it was just that the writing wasn't. There was also a glaring error that pulled me right out of the story. Grey was one of the beta's in all three stories, in the last story for about 2 paragraphs in the middle of the climax his name is suddenly Gray. It jolted me out of the story that I was already struggling through because of the writing.
Reasons why I love the writing team of Timothy James Beck (even when not all together)
" 'What are you guys doing here?' Alexander asked
'Heath and I were at my place, watching Lifetime,' Miranda said. 'Then we realized we were watching Lifetime, so we came here as quickly as we could...' "
There is always humor with the heartache, and a reason to keep reading.
The Deal is from Aaron's POV, it all begins on New Year's Eve 1999 and goes until NYE 2000. The story revolves around a group of friends and their lackluster love lives.
The writing style is fantastic, often making you wish that it was a soap opera or sitcom that you could sit down and watch regularly and keep up with. If a previous book hadn't already made me want to run out and buy everything that the members of Timothy James Beck, this would have ensure that I ran out and bought everything that Cochrane and Lambert wrote (both together and apart).

Hope and Franco were an electric combination. I think that while the sex scenes were hot and slightly graphic, it shouldn't be called erotica, I would classify it as romantic suspense. I enjoyed the story, and enjoyed the growth of Hope throughout the story. The growth could be felt in a number of ways...Hope hates cops, and while the reader has an inkling of why that is all is not reveiled right away (which I appreciated). Hope's understanding and enjoyment of sex is also something that grows, you could feel it in the wording of the sex scenes. In the beginning everything was incredibly clinical, almost to the point of me wanting to toss the book (I don't like clinical sex scenes!) but as the story progresses so does the language. While the story wasn't at all what I expected, it was a happy surprise. The setting was completely different from what I normally read taking place in Southern Italy, yet I could envision the beautiful scenery and feel the warm sea breezes. All in all I would say to give this one a go!
This was incredibly fast paced. The story was interesting and intriguing...I enjoyed that the heroine was older than the hero (and counter parts), I also enjoyed that she wasn't perfect (she'd had 2 kids!!!). Kaelan, Gareth, and Cameron were all hot enough to make a grown women swoon, but there was still Chance and Dev (although they weren't as important to the story...IMHO). This was erotica with a little bit of love...the romance grew, but it seemed to be on the back burner for more than 1/2 the book. There are plenty of menage scenes, and no m/m scenes (normally a disappointment but worked for this story).
Will and Taylor were great, although I wanted more. The novella flew by, and I felt like it could have been a fantastic full length novel. Getting over the past and moving forward is essential for these partners, and best friends. The story was interesting and well written...the pace was fast, and it was action packed. The sex scenes were really well written. Prior to those the tension between Taylor and Will was intense...but I really felt like I needed more, that this was more of an abstract of a really long novel. This was my first by Josh Lanyon, and will not be my last!
This has to be one of the most ridiculous books I've ever read. It was to be blunt stupid...and I loved every word of it. It fairly oozed cheese (could have made nacho's). However, I laughed out loud, and had a great time. A very easy read (took less than 2.5 hours). If you just need to get away from it all and laugh...I would highly recommend it!
I couldn't even finish this one, I got 1/2 through it, and realized I didn't care about any of the characters, and didn't care what was going to happen. Without having finished it, I'm pretty sure I could name the rest of the plot, so I will move on to something enjoyable.
Marissa is VAIN, and Aaron her trainer is going to make her the perfect slave for her boyfriend Tom...but Marissa doesn't love Tom, she just loves his lifestyle and money. Tom wants Marissa, and thinks they'd be perfect...if this didn't seem like a game to her. So off Tom sends her to Slave Castle...I couldn't stand Marissa for almost the entire book, I felt like she was childish and vain, and felt like she was using Tom (which she was). Aaron however I really liked, all except his obsession with Marissa...I couldn't understand the attraction. Tom struck me as a wimp who didn't really know what he wanted, and that while he said he wanted the lifestyle he was looking for a game (even though he heartily denied this). I really like Claudette as well as Amy, and would have loved to have more scenes with both of them.
I enjoyed Aaron's struggle with his feelings for Marissa, and the need to do his job properly, and I enjoyed Marissa's final understanding and appreciation of Aaron. All in all I enjoyed the book, and would probably read it again one day.

Lady Penelope Norman is on a crusade to stop the men of the ton from their sexual excess. Jeremy, Duke of Kilgrath is on a mission to stop Penelope. I enjoyed their romance blooming, and the extra caricular scenes were very well written as always. I love how Jermey is written...I could see him popping into a few of my own fantasies. It was also nice to catch up with some characters from the past. Please note that this book is completely standalone, you don't miss anything by not reading [Everything Forbidden], except for a great story.
Noelle and Dante...an interesting love story with BDSM. I enjoyed the story, but sadly it was forgettable...I think it was because while I understood Noelle's motivations at first when Dante has his rant I completely understood where he was coming from. Suddenly I saw Noelle as a young and incredibly self conscious women. She lost her Domme edge to me at that point, and had a hard time with her getting it back...All in all I would have to say that this is not typical of Jamie Craig (or at least of what of Jamie Craig that I've read). The only thing I can think is that I must have been in the wrong mindset while reading. Scenes weren't nearly as detailed nor as hot as previous.
Carter and Lee...it was alright, Lee's been in love with Carter for a year but he has a girlfriend, Sylvia. Sylvia want Carter to propose so she logically breaks up with Carter. Carter logically calls his buddy Lee, and they logically get together. Its a story you've watched and read a thousand times. It's not bad, and it's not great...worthy of a rental or borrow...but I wouldn't buy.
Tracy in Chains: Tracy, who's been 'happily' married for 7 years has fantasies...at her husband's advice she goes onto the fledgling internet chat rooms, and meets Sir Stephen. This was different from most books that I read, Tracy was married, and while it wasn’t a great marriage, she didn’t want to break her vows…when she does (discovering her husband has been having an affair) she still feels guilty about it. The pain and anguish that Tracy goes through is real, the emotional stress comes across while she debates whether or not she truly wants to save her marriage. I really felt for her and her situation…and understand why she made the decisions that she did.
Julies Submission: So Julie's husband who died about 6 years ago (and was almost 10 years older than her) still hears him in her head. Then Bill comes around to help be a mister fix-it. Together they explore submission and such...I enjoyed this story, but it just didn't touch me like the first. I wanted to smack Julie, her issue with loss was understanding, but her unwillingness to live truly bothered me. Still a read that is worth it.

Oh my! I love that this is a series, in this book we follow Sherif Hunter, and Shane the foreman on Hunter's parents Ranch. Hunter has been in love with Shane since he was a teenager, and Shane has been as well. Shane stayed away from Hunter as he felt the age difference was too great, and Hunter stayed away because after being rebuffed he thought Shane was straight. There isn't nearly the amount of drama in The Broken H as there is in Tin Star, but it was just as romantic and compelling. I can't wait to see who's next!
We met Catherine and Andrew in [Who Will Take this Man?]. Catherine has a secret...she is one of the authors behind the scandalous Guide that is taking London by storm. Andrew has been hired to find the author, so that the men of the Ton can get rid of him. Andrew is in love with Catherine and has been biding his time until she finally came out of morning for her husband. What follows is a fun story that will keep you turning the pages to see what will happen next. I really enjoyed Andrew, although I found Catherine a bit tedious at times. Also Spencer was fantastic, Catherine's 11 year old son.
Race and Candra were fantastic. Candra is a sex therapist who has been asked to assist Race. Race has had a tramatic past that always invades his relationships. The secondary characters were intersting and left me wondering if there would be a future book about Meagan, or Eric. Ms Soarde tells another amazing tale that keeps you captivating and wondering what will happen next.
Carly has lost her job, she needs a new one so her friend gets her to apply for a professional Domme...Carly knows nothing about 'the scene' so she goes to a BDSM 101 class where she meets the instructor Jesse. This was an interesting view of BDSM, Carly a Domme professionally and with Jesse as his slave. As in all of Claires stories romance is the focus, and it truly adds to the experience.
Another amazing story, I enjoyed that there wasn't too much of a romance as Nick is only 19. This is darker than previous stories, but then it's after 9/11 where Gretchen died. I enjoyed that while characters from previous stories were there they did not take over the entire story.
Dylan, and Jack (and Thomas)...Dylan moves back to NYC to get his PhD from NYU. Meeting up with an old buddy he gets an invitation to NYC's most exclusive private gay BDSM club. He meets Thomas and is smitten. Monday Dylan meets his advisor Jack. I enjoyed this story much like I enjoy all of Ms. Thompson's stories. The characters are clearly written and the scenes and story are fantastic.
