This book is about a kid named Greg Heffley he is a boy that likes video games,staying indoors, and hanging out with his friend Rowley Jefferson. What he doesn't like is that his brother Rodrick always picks on him sometimes he’s kinda nice but then he is also mean sometimes. Sometimes life is “ hard “ for him because he can't play video games whenever he wants to and sometimes has to play with his little brother Manny. Its winter time where Greg lives he thinks he can get some money by shoveling peoples driveways but when he goes to the first house he asked a woman if he could shovel her driveway for $5.00. The woman says that she doesn't get much company lately so she invites Greg inside. Greg look around the house and sees a bunch of garden decorations that she brought inside for the winter. Greg feels a little uncomfortable about seeing all the decorations. He doesn't want to be rude so he stays inside for a while and eats cookies with milk. After awhile he goes to another house this time it was a man he had a bathrobe on with a cup of coffee to drink. Greg asks the man if he could shovel his driveway for another $5.00 he says ok. After a little bit of shoveling greg notices that the snow he shoveled was coming back so he had to shovel more. Greg goes up to the man's house and asks if he could shovel the whole driveway for $10.00 the man says no Greg starts shoveling again then sees a snow plow shoveling driveways so the man asks if he could plow his driveway show more for him Greg goes home after that conversation. When he gets home he sees his brother manny playing with his toys and Greg gets something to eat. After he gets something he realizes that the snow had covered the door to get out. They were stuck inside. Greg tells his mom that there was snow blocking the door and that they were stuck. Then the powers goes out. show less

It also explains how nature protects frogs from the dangerous weather. They use mushrooms as umbrellas to protect them from the rain. The dangerous things that happen with weather are a few things like tornadoes or twisters, wildfires, floods, lightning storms, and droughts. Lightning storms happens when ice particles produce a positive and negative charge by coming together and shooting down electricity. Tornadoes are funnels of air that can pick up and destroy anything depending on the level of wind speed. The stuff that usually happens with weather that isn’t so dangerous is snow, sleet, rain, and ice rain.
My opinion on this book is i thought it was fascinating because it is telling me thing i need to do to protect myself from dangerous weather events. I also learned how to figure out what to do if a really dangerous weather event happens. So now if a dangerous weather event happens someday I will evacuate with my family to somewhere safe. Another thing i liked about this book is that i learned how some animals survive this dangerous weather.

Insects live everywhere every continent,in every country and every city,schoolyard,backyard,even in our homes.they live inside,outside,in the sky,in the trees,and in plants,and underground. Some scientists are called:Entomologists. Entomologist’s are people that study insects.there are over 20,000 million different species of bees.one of the best known species of bees are the honey bees. Honey bees nest in colonies where workers feed the larvae. There also some bugs or insects that are actually not insects they are called arachnids. Arachnids are certain insects that have 8 legs not 6 such as the spider and the scorpion.
Opinion: my opinion on this book is that it was a good book. It had lots of good information like what kind of insects there are in the world, what the insects do to survive,defend themselves,and migrate. I would give this book 3 and a half stars. What i liked about this book is that it taught me allot about bugs and other creatures such as arachnids, Etc.

The book I am reading is on Vikings. Vikings were fierce seafarers and warriors who risked dangerous sea crossings battles to claim riches, and later, land to live on. The word Viking was first used in English in 1801. In A.D. 988 Basil the 2nd, emperor of the Byzantine empire, was fed up with his own disloyal guards. So he offered jobs to vikings. He lured the best and bravest vikings out there to join him in exchange for some gold. To apply, a viking warrior must prove him/herself by testing their skills in ordinary combat. In 1964, the United States Congress declared October 9th as Leif Erikson day! In Viking Mythology, Valkyries swooped in from above on horses to claim men killed in battle and bring them to Valhalla the viking hall of the slain. When vikings couldn't work they usually played. They told stories, they would dance, and they would also recite poetry.
My opinion on this book is that i would give it 4 stars for having great history, teaching me so many new things and showing me new things i never knew about the Vikings and what the did. The things i liked about this book is that it has lots of cool stories and history about Viking gods and famous Vikings like Leif Eriksen, or Erik the Red. what i didn't like about this book was that it had lots of horrible things like Viking raiders attacking Irish Monasteries, and talking about how vikings killed people.
