There is nothing earnest about the play..This is a madhouse with eccentric characters. I loved the booked instantly on reading the plot. Oscar Wilde is a clever and witty writer. The mistaken identities, the fake personalities, the convenient truths and inconvenient circumstances , all lead up to a perfectly adorable and hilarious family drama. This is a satirical comedy about love and marriage. I enjoyed every line of the book with its Victorian themed narrative. The importance of being "Ernest" is highlighted in several humourous ways- as a person and as a quality. Jack and Algy add different levels of complexity to staying Earnest. The climax is the most eventful with a delightful conversation between the shallow Aunt Augusta and the misplaced "Ernest". Cecily and Gwendolin are such adorable characters who are so farce yet sophisticated.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves absurdity and mockery.

This is an amazing book. It is quite long, yes. But the reason I love this book is for the same reason Liesel reads books in this story. It is to escape from reality. To see different perspectives of the same idea. It sets you free. It allows you to have your own existence with unbiased opinions. It felt like inception for me :)
The story might go slow for a several pages, but then you will warm up to the characters in the book. The disturbing details of the war and the destruction of free thought is unsettling. This is also a window to our current reality. But Liesel's love for reading is what helps her survive and maintain her sanity in the troubled times. You might start relating to why "You" like to read. I rediscovered my love for reading when i read this book.

Terrible book. Wondering how I even completed this story. It has wolves, witches, owls, Doe , eagles...possible all mystical creatures which can be put inside a fantasy story. What the story really lacks is the adventure and quests of any fantasy series. This is a desperate attempt to get into the league but this book should perhaps be categorized under subtle erotica!! I hated every part of the book. The characters are too weak and contradict their own characters. Their existensial struggle in the manifestation of the characters in the story is equally pitiful as the author's struggle to bring them to life in the story. It is not romance. It is just sensually elaborated desire of a woman who wants to get intimate with a good looking man.
The characters are in search of their own better selves from the beginning of the story. The man and woman are attracted to each other from the first time they see each other ..and their sexual drive to each other is so ridiculously high that they think only about that 24x7. The story then goes to depict that making love to a person whom one is mysteriously attracted to is how one might find the purpose and meaning of their life. This was totally illogical to me.
Very amateurish for Nora Roberts to attempt this genre.

I absolutely loved the book. I loved Jack..He is such a sweet and brave boy. :) I loved this book only for the simple depiction of the world and life as seen by a five year old.
It is disturbing to imagine the story of a woman who is locked away from the world.she has been an amazing mother always trying to create fun childhood for Jack but all from recreating it from her memories of past with Rhymes, stories, games and tv. It was very touching how Ma has created a world for her little kid. It is inspirational to a certain level too. But I really thought about the journalist's question in the end ..why didn't Ma think about asking old Nick to put up her baby for adoption. Could he have had a better future? A less traumatic one?sure. But I connected that question to why Ma might have tried to "go to heaven". Was she regretting that she never thought of it? I would like to think of it that way so that there is a closure for that unimplemented idea. This one bit troubled me for a while.
Otherwise, this book offers a lot of philosophical approaches for me. Aren't we all a captive in some way or the other? The kid's innocent perspective to life in the Outside is a breath of fresh air to me. It did make me think about my own life and how I could really try to be a minimalist. This book offers a newer meaning to Freedom.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to escape the mundane reality of work and occupation and want to see the world in a whole new light.

I am a bit sceptical when I have to pick up books on historical fiction because I do not want to be tormented with the painful experiences people faced. However, I wanted to read this story as the book's name itself seemed optimistic and I hoped I would not have much to grieve. Fortunately. It was a positive experience. When I first started reading the book, I was reminded of the Book Thief. This book is on the similar lines. This is a very beautiful story of how people touched each other's lives during World War II.
I was impressed with the Narration style. The Author has done a great job of alternating the stories in the chapters. The attention to details is extremely good. This book does not harrow a reader like war stories do, but it offers a good vantage point of seeing a story of few people during the times of distress. The description of a scenes as experienced by a blind girl is very detailed and touching. I simply loved the unexpressed emotions of a soldier who wants to create than destroy.
I could see all the light I was supposed to see. I loved the irony and the destiny of the Sea of Flames. The author has brilliantly intertwined the fate of Sea of Flames with the lives of people involved in the story.
I want to give this book 5 stars, but I cannot because of two things.
i)The epilogues were too fast.
ii)During the time of war, the challenges and atrocities faced by girls and women were immense. While an educated, fully capable girl as Jutta gets raped even show more when she is in a group, somehow a blind girl-Marie faces only a questionnaire from a German soldier even when she is wandering alone.
Nevertheless,I loved the story. I would rate this book 4.5 stars. show less

Absolutely loved the book! This is a masterpiece science fiction-thought provoking and scary. This book is so precarious about the future and humans that it frightens me. What if-just, what if, empathy could be mastered by androids? What will be the true meaning of humanity, if at all we survive?
“Life which we can no longer distinguish; life carefully buried up to its forehead in the carcass of a dead world.”
“Life which we can no longer distinguish; life carefully buried up to its forehead in the carcass of a dead world.”
I do not know if this book needs to be rated. Rated for what? This is based on a real life story. The incidents are very depressing and disturbing. It is heart wrenching. It made me obnoxious. It made me angry. It made me cry. It haunted me for several months and I hated mankind. The gore truth about rape victims. I doubt any person could read this book in a single sitting. Aruna's story is truly sad and can't believe she had to suffer her remaining life silently. These are the things that make me question the existence of god. Not for the faint hearted.
Crazy happy Robots. Insane InfiniDim. Adventurous Guide Ford. Happy satisfied Sandwichmaker Arthur. The confused but confident Trillian. Time Travel and Parallel Universe. Love this book.
This book has lot of romance and sad moments, but falls short of any adventure. I could not bring myself to like this story because this book goes on and on about how these women let go of their self esteem and destroy themselves. May be the author attempted to portray these women as forgiving and sacrificing. I could not find adventure and independence either in the story or in these women. Perhaps, the background that women are working is all that makes a reader want to think that the women are independent. Again, there is no mention of their career or how their professional life has helped them find better position in their life. So I could not see independent women. I saw only working women. This might be story of most women who are head over heels for someone but it seems too immature for women in their thirties to be how these characters are described. I found it unrealistic. The three women find it so hard to make any decision and stand by it.It pretty much looks like adolescent heartbreak stories which can be seen in Taylor Swift 's or Selena Gomez' songs! There is no humor. Nevertheless, the attempt capture the emotional turmoil among each of their lives is very good and with lot of clarity.
2.5 stars because the story has good drama, good continuity of the plots in the women's lives and narration.

I loved the book for several reasons
1) It was not a book, It was a collection of letters. It is very articulate.
2) that the book is written in First person. So except the 1st letter, I read the letters as if the letters were written to me. So the book successfully establishes a relationship with the reader.
3) The journey of Charlie's life and his first times are brilliantly narrated. The narration is very natural and simple.
4) I liked that the author maintained a good pattern in the frequency of letters Charlie writes. Also I kind of liked the way Charlie's way of writing improves over time, maybe as if owing to the essays he has been writing for Bill. So the timeline and the letters feel very realistic.
I have read books about famous people. Biographies and Fictions where the characters in the books are popular for one reason or the other. But this book is special for me because it gives an insight about the other kind of people. Charlie is not really too shy. But very patient and tolerant and introverted, Not very judgemental but keenly curious and observing. His letters portray numerous sentiments about first times and breakups and how he sees life of others while is nearly invisible to others. It was a definitely a roller coaster of emotions.

The book is more of quintessential Indian Bahu and Indian Mother and Indian woman. I could relate to several instances and laugh at them, basically laugh at the things that have happened in my life(Not at the things mentioned in the book) . I say that because the humor seemed forced and not natural AT ALL. The book has too many stereotypes and cliches. The narration and the continuity is something I did not like as it seemed like reading directly from her blog than from a book. Nevertheless, Twinkle's ideas are very liberal and open. I liked the frankness of thoughts and boldness of actions. 3.5 Stars!
Its a pretty intense book. Fast and twisted tale with twisted characters. I personally did not like the book being called "Memory man" as I did not find anything exceptionally impressive about Amos' memory. But the story is very gripping when it comes to investigations and that got me hooked. I liked the negative characters in the story as well because the author has chosen a rarely discussed topic.
This is a book for young adults . I got to read the beta version of the story. This story about small girl who is destined to play a major role in a war in Japan as the plot mentions. What it does not mention is that this book is based on a true historical figure,Lady Chiyome who created an army of Female Assassins in the Sixteenth Century and provided them to Takeda Clan.
I actually picked up the book because I liked the cover and the plot. I thought I would be disappointed as the initial narration was way too simple and slow paced. But I was not as disappointed as I thought I would be when I completed the book. It has History, It has adventure. It has Cruelty, It has Treachery. It has Drama. The book was amazing to me as this was the first time I was reading about female Ninjas. This is the first book in the series. Therefore, this is an introduction to Risuko and how she gets to be a part of highly skilled women samurai warriors of the Takeda Clan. There are a lot of innocent discoveries and surprising revelations. The concept of the book is very simple. The author has nicely linked the name Risuko to the high vantage points she holds throughout the story. This book made me curious about the operatives and it made me read actual history. The challenges and helplessness was a different story, but these women were pretty cool and total bad-ass. . Nice to read a story which covered this aspect of war.

The simplest and greatest story ever told. I have never appreciated fishermen all my life. I never understood the methods and their challenges. This book changed my opinion!
The story slowly weaves an eternal connection between the old man and the marlin and the sea; How their lives start and end at the sea. You can see the similarities of their lives here at almost all places. Both are tired but they are fighters in their own way. Both are very methodical and clever. The specific part I loved the most was that both stand by each other throughout their last few hours of their lives. They are like soulmates, united at death. Both are damaged in certain way. The old man has tried to protect the marlin one last time. The marlin also has in a way protected the old man's reputation one last time, when people thought his fishing days were gone.
Brilliant symbolism and simple narration.
The best thriller story I have ever read. It is "The perfect murder".
This book gives me an Unapologetic feeling about being myself. The true meaning of ego and greater sense of freedom.
"I am, I think, I will."
"I am, I think, I will."
It is a decent book about philosophy of evolution than evolution itself, but the second half is a torture.
The ideas about primitivism, humanity, ecology, survival and philosophy is dealt very well in the book. There are interesting and debatable ideas about the mistakes of humans and their understanding of life. The concept of life and culture is explained through Takers and Leavers. One of my favorite Quotes from the book is
“The premise of the Taker story is 'the world belongs to man'. … The premise of the Leaver story is 'man belongs to the world'.”
However, the narration itself is one sided. It is over 200 pages of monologue!Ishmael does all the talking, while the student is just dumbstruck in the whole story. There is No "No-easy-going-Gorilla teacher" or "a student who is dedicated enough to learn". The Student appears plain Dumb and incapable of comprehending.
3 Stars for the idea conveyed. I might have given an additional star if religion and divinity were not highlighted as much as they were in the story. The book mentions only about one story of human existence-Genesis, Adam and Eve and Abel and Cain. All western beliefs. The book would have made justice if the symbolism was generic- with no religion involved, or included few more citations of such books from other parts of the world and then summarized it. This could have been an essay instead a story.

It is Funny and emotional at the same time. It will change how you look at your parents.
This is an amazing book. Made me laugh, ..made me cry. I can totally relate my parents to Elizabeth and George. Caring for aging parents is difficult! Roz describes these emotions and thoughts with such honesty-fear, guilt, worries, anger, frustration and denial.
This book has definitely gotten me to think differently about old age and has brought me closer to my parents. Things that used to annoy me earlier, make me smile now. Thanks for publishing this book.
:) Just love this book!

I read this book only because I was curious about time travel. Believe me..this book is a drag. Is it supposed to be a love story? Is it supposed to be a science fiction? Perhaps drama.. I was wondering why did I ever choose to read this book. The story is about a person who goes back and forth in time to fall in live, stay in love and to see the disasters caused in this course. The narration was too long and unnecessary. Several places I wondered why Clare had to put up with so much pain and I had no better reason but to call her dumb. I personally did not like how the story progressed as the angle of desperation, anxiety and agony seemed forced as if to add to any quientessential love stories. But I could not come to terms with the ending. The instances seemed nonessential. There is too much attention to detail which again was not needed everytime there was time travel. 2 stars for the concept of finding love through time travel.
A book with no aim
I was curious to see if the book offers an insights into the Restaurant Critic's wife's life. Sadly, there is nothing this book can offer than what we already know from the society. It is a story about a neglected housewife who has dreams and aspirations which are suppressed and overlooked. It is not even a struggle to freedom. It is all about a woman finding her way back to an emotionally abusing husband who cares only about his work. She is extremely procrastinating and finds instant gratification from the smaller things that her husband does out of sympathy. But she is not happy and she suppresses all her emotions.
I would have loved a book if there was a woman who would build a career from what all the husband keeps throwing at her. This book fails at all levels.
I would not recommend this book.
