The story is really not that interesting.
good writing, story less interesting.
Rapport: Friendship, Solidarity, Communion, Empathy: A Tor Original (The Murderbot Diaries) by Martha Wells
short spin-off story in the murderbot universe. read on reactormag.com website
STET by Sarah Gailey
This story made me cry. It's strong, so strong; you know what? I think I'm one of those idiots too.
All individual stories are interesting. However I can't see a whole picture here.
So, signing elephants. This story is a bit too American to me. Cannot finish reading.
I like the setting very much. And I like the idea that a book could be magical for one reads it, from a book lover. I was/am perplexed by the ending; is escaping to another world really not an escape?
But I'd love to meet some witch librarian.

The story is encouraging and funny. It's the first time I know about Korean dragon folklore; it's a bit different from the Chinese counterpart, more lovely.
The story is straightforward, with no twist; the moral is open in the title. But sweet it is.

Astronomy for Kids: How to Explore Outer Space with Binoculars, a Telescope, or Just Your Eyes! by Dr. Bruce Betts
Excellent introductory night sky guide.
It’s a realistic view of modern media age. The mom character reminds me quite a lot of my own mother. How she was feverishly seeking any connections to me, her only child.
Tips, many tips. So, the whole point of the book is that willpower is a _limited and shared mental energy source_, which can and should be trained, nurtured, and cultivated, just as physical strength. In order to improve the willpower, man needs to have motivation, perseverance, and rewards. Also in the book are myriad methods or tips to boost or save your willpower.
On the downside, it’s a bit repetitive.

In cyberpunkish future Korea, government has a firm grasp of Internet. The way to the Freedom is through planting trees(?!). Yes, the revelation is quite magical.
This, is a topic very much relevant in South Korea, and in China.

A second generation planet settler led some third generations to a expedition to recover the vital earth-delivery. I love the wild wild west feel of landscapes, and tough and unforgiving survival flight.
Story from 2011 (I think). Very interesting and clever setting. The language is somehow poetic. Is that a Irish thing?

Listened to the story first. Reading it then brought some details to me.
The protagonist is an adopted child, outsider of the tribe. I suppose part of reasons why he's terribly alone and wanted friendship badly. The earth setting is deliberate. However it matters little. And I don't convinced their race is direct descendant of human kind. Who were they or how they developed intelligence is not clear.
To me, the whole story is touchingly uplifting.

The setting, the first part of this story is quite charming. We got two strong characters, mother and son. It charts a man's life, at the background of an massive alien specie invasion. I felt the latter part was disappointingly underwhelming.
One very aspiring piece is Neil Clarke's interview with French musician Jean-Michel Jarre.
This story about some troubled juveniles is so so disturbing. The strength of it lies heavily on the three teenagers and their interactions.

The story describes a definitely exotic world, however, simulating familiar, humane elements.
Great performance by Kate Baker.

Moving story about relationships between mothers and daughters. Great reading too!
I like a technique used in this story: a few Chinese characters inserted in dialogs in the first half; later when Lu lost her language, replaced with ??? (read according circumstances differently).

Very moving and thought provoking story. I want to explore this world a bit more, of the human activities, and especially creativities after AI rules the world.
This story also makes a strong argument that suffering is gene-coded in humanity and maybe other animals, which should not be eliminated totally.
The story focuses mostly on the narrator, making his character journey full and convincing, but makes others a little blank.
