Kurth’s presentation is clear, concise, and structured. Breaking the material into scaffolded topics (e.g. Inspiration, Brainstorming, Obstacles, etc.), each section offers practical tips and tricks for the writer; with a quoted example or two from literature or published memoirs to illustrate the point [many of them, exquisitely poignant]; followed by a writing challenge with sample prompts. Kurth includes advice on shaping and organizing a narrative, revision for publication or alternative media (e.g. open mics, Tik Tok, podcasts), and more. Overall, an inspiring and useful read.

A good read for fans of Lee Childs’ Jack Reacher tales. A testosterone-drenched, conspiracy-laden suspenser with high body counts and international intrigue. A bit formulaic, but fast-paced and gripping while hitting on some very timely themes: bio-engineering, cyber-sabotage, the illegal arms market, and human trafficking.
