Book 4 of the Cassandra Palmer series.
Cassie, Pythia and number 1 on the hit list for mage and god alike, has to survive Mircea's protection, a body swap and ley line racing with a mage coup in the offering. Then there's Pritkin, the demise of MAGIC and a mysterious woman in a photo album.
All the novels in this series have been non-stop action and I have enjoyed reading them. While Cassie appears (to quote Sal) "Dumb as a rock, isn't she?" she always manages to come up with the goods in the end.
Will eagerly await the next instalment.
Elvis has to prove that a job he did 3 years before, clearing a man of murder, was correct. Now Byrd's found dead with evidence he's killed more women. It's an open and shut case for the cops but what are they covering up? Elvis, with Joe for backup, follows the trail that looks more and more like police corruption, but is it? A good read.
Daddy (Mircea) has asked Dory's help to recapture Uncle Dracula. Dory's more concerned with finding her housemate, Claire. They strike a deal, Dory gets to hunt Drac and Mircea will find Claire with the added bonus of giving her Louis-Cesare, master vampire and duelling whiz to help out. Plenty of action and two outcasts find they are not as alone as they thought. For readers of the Cassie Palmer books, fills in the background of some of the characters. Looks like it will be a good series. I really liked it, better perhaps than Cassie Palmer.
Tempe is coping with missing Ryan, Katy match-making and her battle with the bottle after a detective is gunned down on a case she is working involving a deadly mix of voodoo, SanterĂa, and devil worship in her quest to identify two young victims. Ryan comes for the funeral, they talk, can she trust him again? A good read.
