I enjoyed the Mars trilogy more, but this book was very interesting. Have to go back and see how much of it is "History" and how much is imagination. Either way, it entertained. I really enjoyed the science, the conflict with the church. At first the "Science Fiction" part was very strange, but it grew on me.

I didn't have any preconceptions going into this book. I'm Christian and was interested in what was billed as a fantasy - christian book.
I really enjoyed the book. The characters were interesting. The setting was interesting. It was decently written. There were a few timeline jumps that made it seem slightly disjointed. I felt the book could have been longer, instead of relying on some cliches, they could have been fleshed out a bit more. Maybe another point of view from within the current culture.
good solid 3-4 stars. and, the real kicker is that I will look to read book 2.

I really enjoyed Black Rain. At first it seemed very similar to James Rollins Amazonia. But, it stood on its own just fine.
I really enjoyed the history and how everything tied together. Fun action, believable villians, and good heroes.

At first I didn't like the narrative style. He quotes others buy not himself, and the only way you know if he said something outloud is by context.
But, if you judge a book by if you can't put it down... I read through this in one sitting, even though I had to get up early. If it was fiction, it wouldn't be quite as gripping. But to read the story of these almost larger than life individuals, but somehow totally normal is intriguing to say the least and possibly life changing.
I dare anyone to read it and not want to donate to the church.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit more than I thought I would. I think I even liked it better than the first, "Alex and the Ironic Gentleman"
This book is fast moving, smart, and funny. Timothy is a little annoying at times, but then again, I guess he is supposed to be. Fun little story that is a quick read for adults, and would be fun to read to a tween.

This book surprised me. I was expecting fiction, but got a touching story of one woman's life within a black pentecostal church. I don't believe exactly as she does, but it didn't matter reading her story. She believes, and is so sincere and honest that it doesn't matter. I enjoyed the book more than I thought I would have. It prompts introspection and made me think of my own spirituality.

I enjoyed this book. Typical Rollins little bit of weirdness, but likable characters.

Took a little bit longer than usual for me to get into this one, but eventually did, and enjoyed it. I love the cover. The world is new and imaginative. I find it amazing that Sanderson does a slightly different style with each work. This one was a quite a bit funnier and wittier than the others. (except Alcatraz)
Would recommend to anyone.

I enjoyed this book and was pleasantly surprised for a book from a "football player" Nice book and good blend of religion. I enjoyed a book that was religious, thrilling, christian, but not beat you on the head, and gave a fair shake to Islam.
Didn't realize it was second in a series, but it did encourage me to read the first one.

I really enjoyed this book. Fun, gripping, and interesting.

I didn't know what to expect from this book, and what type of book it was, but was pleasantly surprised. The premise was interesting, the story pretty well written, and I couldn't figure out where it was going next.

Pretty good. I enjoyed the first half of the book more than the second half. The planet was interesting, the biology, etc.
The religious discussions my be more interesting to Catholics. While I didn't have any objections to it, I just found it a little boring at that point.

I don't usually read "Romance" novels, but read this because of a commitment. I use Romance in quotes, because I thinks it's closer to Urban Fantasy.
I enjoyed the book much more than I thought I would. It was generally well written. A lot of back story and description of different "monsters" and powers and ways to kill, etc had to be covered and she did well at conveying all the information while still maintaining flow and conversation.
I did have a problem with the more explicit scenes. I find them to be purely gratuitous and that they don't help the story at all.
Also, for a romance, there was very little romance. It was all cheesy teenage infatuation and sex. Very little romance at all.
Even with those complaints I still enjoyed the story.

Well-written and fascinating. Almost exclusively dragon interaction this book and less human interaction. Disappointing ending. Temeraire rang a little false this book being smart about math, but extremely clueless about following orders, organizing, etc. Seemed a bit forced.

I really enjoyed my first exposure to Steve Berry and will read more of his books.
The plot and mystery were very intriguing, and the dialog and action were well-written. My biggest complaint was how jumpy it was. It would jump from place to place and scene to scene almost every page. I can see the author doing that to "speed" things up, but eventually it got to me a little.
I also found the resolution for some characters fulfilling, but for a few others not as fulfilling. While this is reminiscent of real life, it didn't quite fit the characters to be satisfied at that point.

I was previously unfamiliar with the Eberron world until reading this book and the Storm Dragon (the first book in the trilogy). Honestly I did not expect to like a book based on a D&D created world. I read some Forgotten Realms many years ago, but grew away from them.

With that said, I really enjoyed both Storm Dragon and Dragon Forge. Dragon Forge is a well written, entertaining fantasy book. If you are looking for a Hugo candidate that makes you think deep and is full of social commentary, this isn't the book for you. But, if you are looking for a fun read with interesting, likable characters then I believe you will enjoy this. It does separate itself a little more from the pack with characters that continue to grow; and with some interesting personal dynamics, especially between Gaven and Rienne.

One final note, the book is the 2nd in a trilogy, and ends with very few loose ends tied up.
