I was disappointed as I thought it would more about him than critiquing each film. After reading it I realized the author was a film critic so I got what I paid for but was still let down.
I have the Hardcover edition. It covers that one year better than any read i have encountered. I've bought this for several history buffs and they all had high praise and like the focus of the subject. You can truly empathise with Washington not being able to share his true feelings on the outcome of battle.
Provocative. I will be following some of the global DNA testing that will try and dispute many of Menzies' assumptions. Great read except for the fact he constantly needs to remind us of his service in the navy. any history buff will get a paradigm shift after reading 1421.
