One minute you're walking home from a college party a little stoned and the next minute you're bundled off to Fae school. Hallucination or reality? For Angela, it turned out that Emberglow Falls Academy for the Fae was real and she was enrolled!
I thought the beginning of the book to be a little choppy but once the story got going the author really hit their stride and I found it to be quite an enjoyable read. There was a good pace to the story, most of the characters are good ( although I personally think Lisa is annoying), and there's a good plot that keeps you wanting to know more.
Looking forward to reading the second book of the series.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. The night Nora lost her parents in what seemed like an accident, she thought she saw something dark and evil and broke. Now a year later, Nora fighting grief and depression learns that she was right and demons are real when her guardian saves her from a plunge that she have killed her. But is Nora ready for this fight?
I really enjoyed this book. Although the first of a series, it could easily have been read as a standalone. The author gives keeps you guessing until the end. It was well written and can't wait to read the next one.
It does have a couple spicy scenes that are detailed for those who do not like that.

I will start off by saying that the concept of the story is very intriguing and interesting and has a lot of potential. However, I believe that it still needs work. Book one seems more like a novella than a book. It is a great introduction to the world but aside from the length, which is quite short, it is just that, an introduction. Also, scenes are rushed, there is a lack of punctuation but that could be because of it being an ARC, but I believe it needs more story to move beyond a novella.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Drowning in grief after her mother's murder, Zoe goes to a wind phone. Unexpectedly, she gets a message from her mother telling her to solve her murder. Not thinking the police would believe her, she enlists the help of her college professor who wrote a best selling crime novel.
I thought the use of the wind phone an original idea and would have like it expanded more. The book itself was interesting enough but I found some things a little repetitive and it made a few things a little too obvious as a result. Overall, an enjoyable read though.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. An aspiring novelist has the good fortune to house sit for his estranged yet wealthy best friend from uni out in the English country. The house just happens to have belonged to a satanist who committed suicide years before. What could possibly go wrong?
Although there was weird formatting and typos which I will attribute to the PDF copy I received, the book was rather enjoyable to read. It really did an excellent job of blending the environment into the story and made me want to know more about the Avebury site. The story itself was nicely paced with enough action and mystery to keep you reading throughout.
A suggestion, a map would have been nice. I had to google to get a better picture of the location.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Woodbine Grove is a supernatural thriller coming of age story. Friends Ruby Sinclair and Alinta Laghari search for Alinta's missing brother Ignacio. However, Woodbine Grove and the nearby reservation of Whitesand is not all they appear to be.
Honestly, personally, this book was not for me. I felt that the author was trying a little too hard with the descriptions to the point that it was making some of them illogical and taking me away from the story.
Although the overall plot was good, it felt like there were areas that could have been flushed out more to show how everything was tied together.
