I loved this book, it was hard to put down. It was one of thoose books that makes you feel good. I can't wait to read the third book Dragondrums. I hope that people read this book because I think that just about anyone would enjoy it. It was well written and extremly creative. It also has a good moral. That if you try you will succed.
Daystar's mom kicked him out. Not in a mean way though, it started when his mom Cimorene got a vist from a wizard and melted him. Then she went into the woods and got the sword, which was magic. So he sets of into the enchated forest and meets Shiara a fire witch whoose magic dosen't work when she wants it to. So they decide to travel together since the enchanted forest can be a dangerous place. Along the way they meet plenty of wizards,an evil sorcceres, elves, dwarves, a which and a magician that are old friends of Cimorene, and a dragon that decides to join them. Soon they are told to go see Kazul the king of dragons and find out that the sword is much more special then they relized, because it is the sword of the king of the enchanted forest who is trapped in his castle by a spell cast by the wizards, and Daystar is the only one who can break it. Once they get the King out and fight the Wizards they learn that Cimorene and the King are married so that meens that Daystar is a prince.
This is the final book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. There are four books all together and each one is amazing. I have read them all at least five times. I also own some because they are that good. These books are some of my favorites and I would suggest that people read them. They may not be as exiting for adults or older kids, but for others it is fantastic. Patricia C. Wrede is an amazing writer.
Menolly despretly wants to become a Harper. A Harper is the one that teaches the kids, sings, and does various other tasks for a Hold, which is a village or town. The problem is that the Sea Hold Menolly is at thinks that a girl harper would disgrace their hold. Soon Menolly accidently cuts her hand while guting fish and is told that she will never be able to play again, which is a lie that she was told so that she wouldn't play, so not to disgrace the hold. After a while of being told that she can't play and isn't aloud to sing she runs away from the Hold. After she runs away she takes shealter in a cave because Thread is falling, Thread is a sliver string that comes from the Red Star that will eat any living thing. The cave that she runs into is the home of Fire Lizards which are like mini-dragons, the dragons fight the Thread with their riders, and she accidently Impresses nine of them. Later a dragon rider rescues her from a Thread fall that was happening while she was outside, and takes her the Wheyr. There she is accepted, and so are her fire lizards, and she is happy and has even taught her much sought after firr lizards to sing which has never been heard of before.
I liked this book for many resons. Menolly had to face being an outcast and was able to get threw it. This tells you that if you want something bad enough you have to make it happen. Also this book was well written with lots of creative ideas. I would say that just about anybody could read this book show more and enjoy it. Even if it is confusing at times all you have to do is re-read a little and you will be fine. I also plan to read the other two books which I hope are also as good if not better. show less
Storm and her two sisters go on an adventure to escape the evil Dr. Dewilde and various other villians along the way. It all starts when their mom dies after giving birth to Any, and gives Storm a pipe which she is told to use wisly. Then their father leaves and they are forced to leave their home to get away from Dewilde. Later they learn that the pipe can control the people around it when played. They also learn that if Dewilde gets gets the pipe he will become un-stoppable. So with the help of some friends and each other they are able to stop Dewilde and keep the pipe safe. In the very end Storm throws the pipe into the ocean so nobody can use it's power for evil again.
I loved this book. It was adventureous, funny amd every thing else. It is a mix of multiple fairytales combined into one fantastic book. I would recomend this book to anyone that likes fariy tales or the Grimm brothers. It is a good kids and adults book. It is the type of book that you can read over and over again. Anyone who dosen't like it is completly insane.
Kyle, a concetid, privliged jerk gets cursed by a witch. The curse turns into a monster and he can't use his dads money to get out of this one. The witch gives he two years to find someone who can love him dispite his looks. At first he thinks that its impossible and gives up. Then Lindy comes, he father trades her so he isn't turned in to the police for breaking into Kyle's house. At first she just wants to leave and dosen't like him, but later they become good friends. In the end Lindy goes take care of her father and is almost killed, but Kyle rescues her and the curse is broken.
I liked this book alot. I have read it twice and recomend it to people. It is like a modern version of beauty and the beast. It shows you that looks and money aren't the only things in the world. There are many othet morals in the book as well. It is however more of a girls book than a boys even if the narrator is a boy. It's a great book.
