This was a surprisingly interesting read. I liked how Zelazny masks the science fiction elements and makes the novel read like a fantasy tale but make no mistake, the backbone of the story is very much SF. The merger of technology and Hindu mythology works for the most part, and is generally convincing, provided you're willing to look over a few hiccups here and there. But the concept is very well executed and I especially liked how he kept the narrative voice grandiose and formal, in keeping with the mythical nature of the story. Great read, overall.
