The first time I read 1984 was when I was in high school. Even though this novel was published back in 1949, it was a novel that was ahead of its time. The term "Big Brother" has become a term used by many to describe lack of privacy (something one may think they have but in reality, how much of our privacy is private?). What seemed like impossible in the book is now a reality for everyone due to how information is shared.
