This is a book about a teenager named Will. Will has to leave all of his friends behind as he moves into a totally new world. He ends up coming across a small lake that has an island in the center. He starts to go there quite often. It is his favorite place to go because he can learn about nature. While being on the island so much, he comes to learn about himself as well. Everyone from town thinks he's kind of crazy since he is extremely antisocial now as he is constantly on the island.

I thought that this book was quite interesting. It was pleasant t read. I like the amount of detail put into describing everything about the island. I like this book especially because I can kind of relate to it. Sometimes I just want to go somewhere where people aren't around and I can be alone. The author did a great job describing the feelings of Will throughout the entire story. I would recommend this book to almost anyone.

Erik is a young boy from North Dakota. He is left with his grandparents for six months while his parents both get deployed overseas. As he simply cannot stand it any longer, he decides to run away. He isn't going all alone though-he has his dog named Quill. To survive on his own (with Quill of course), he brings along his shotgun to hunt. Since he has a hunting license, he can hunt birds to serve as most of his meals. He later realizes that this was a mistake as he gets taken to the police station for a reward.

I thought that this book was okay. It wasn't my favorite just because it wasn't exactly realistic. How do people not think anything of a small boy walking down the road with a shotgun? The actual story though, was decent. I liked the adventurous way of Erik. This book is good for anyone that likes adventure books. Might be best for younger readers though.

This book is about a teenage girl named Riva. Riva is a Polish Jew during the Holocaust . Her mother has died so she has to take care of the family as best as she can on her own. Riva has a few brother but sadly all of them die of sickness or hunger until only two of them are left. Eventually they all agree to go to a camp because they are starving and the camps promise food (along with the extremely hard slave labor). Riva ends up getting separated from her brothers and they go to different camps. Eventually the remaining prisoners from Riva's camp are saved by Russian Jews just before the Nazi guards were about to execute them.

I thought this was a great book. It showed the true details of how terrible the Holocaust was. Nothing was left out to lessen the impact of what truly happened during World War 2. This book was extremely sad...and it should be! I liked how the story was completely true. Nothing was fake or made up. The author did a great job depicting the events of the Holocaust. I would recommend this book, but be warned- it's a hard read emotionally.

In this book Katniss and Peeta are reentered into the hunger games from the winners circle of their District (12). Right off the bat, they make friends with some of the other people like Fin and Mags. When the games begin, the alliance grabs a bunch of gear and kills a few people right off the bat before running off the beach. After Mags ends up dying, Fin, Peeta, and Katniss are eventually rescued from the arena by a hovercraft. The hovercraft came from Distrct 13, a district that was thought to have been gone for a long time now.

I thought that this was a great book. It was better than the first book because there was more action. This book was more entertaining because of the alliances and friendships that happened. There was more sad parts though like when Mags dies and how Peeta almost gets killed. I was very surprised at the end when the hovercraft came in and saved them. I was expecting the group to basically pull the same stunt as last time to get them all out. Anyone who likes books with action and some unexpected twists would love this book.

This is a book about a teenager named Katniss Everdeen. Katniss's little sister, Prim gets picked for the games so she volunteers to go instead to save her sister. After she gets to the arena she gets some time to train. After the training time is over, she is entered into the games with the rest of the contestants. Katniss survives by shooting people with a bow and teaming up with another girl, Rue, who later gets killed. At the end of the games, Katniss and Peeta team up and are the last two survivors. Rather than one of them die they threaten to kill themselves and end up being spared.

I thought that this was a decent book. It had a lot of action and I was actually wanting to read more. There was always an unexpected event that kept me coming back. This was a blend of action and a bit of romance. There was also a lot of conflict between some of the characters which was also entertaining. The author never really lost my attention throughout the novel. If you like action books then this is good for you.

This is a book about a teenager named Beatrice (Tris) and her boyfriend Tobias. Tobias and Tris are Divergents which means that they have a hard time being placed in a faction (where a person goes for the rest of their life) because the test they take gives them multiple faction options. After being in Dauntless (here chosen faction) for a while, all the people in Dauntless are required to get a tracker injected to them. This tracker actually possesses the people and makes them fight for Erudite (another faction that wants full control) against Abnegation (Tris's birth faction). After they stop the attacks by unmindcontrolling the Dauntless, Tris and Tobias escape the city for their safety.

I thought that this book was OKAY. I did not like how much romance was involved in the story. I think that the story should've revolved more around the struggles of the city. The action scenes were usually pretty brief and then basically ended up with a love scene. This got very old very quick. I would have liked the story so much more if there were more action scenes and more of a backstory to how the U.S. got to this state. If you are a person into romances then this would be a great book for you.

This book is about a teenage criminal named Day. Day is wanted by the government and they really need him captured. The government wants Day so bad that they send a teenage agent named June to hunt him down and bring him in. When day attempts to rob a hospital to get a cure for his brother's fatal disease, he kills a soldier with his knife. This is very bad for Day since this is June's older brother that was killed which makes her want to capture Day so much more. After much research, June has confirmed that Day actually did not kill her brother, but the Republic. At the end of the story, the two run away with a rebel group called the Patriots to escape the cruel Republic.

I thought that this book was okay. It did have a fair amount of action but I was not always entertained. I thought this book was a bit slow to read since I kept getting bored. One thing I didn't like about this book was the romance...there was a lot more than necessary. I did like the characters' personalities and their wide variety of skills.

Michael wakes up to find himself in another boy's body named Jackson Porter. Michael was placed in this body by a by a rogue tangent (artificial intelligence) named Kaine. Kaine has put Michael in Jackson's body because Michael was also a tangent and was suffering from a flaw in his coding. Michael knows he needs to get onto the Virt-Net to see his friends. When he logs on he tells his friends what has happened and they agree to go on a mission to stop Kaine from killing people and putting tangents into their bodies. When they log off of the game they find out that what they have done was actually in real life not in the game so the three friends (Michael, Sarah, and Bryson) end up in jail.

I thought this was a great book. There was lots and lots of action. The book was a bit confusing at times but it was still very entertaining. Lots of what happened in the book I did not see coming so it definetely made the book more interesting. I thought this book was even better than the first since it had even more action and events. This book was also pretty funny with Bryson's personality.

This book is about how a plane full of teenagers crashes onto an island. The kids were just flying to a camping trip for their school. After they crash the pilot organizes a small group of the kids to go with him to explore the island a bit in search of other people. So with the only adult gone, the kids left on the beach must fend for themselves. The problem with this is that there is a fight for power between Daley and Nathan, two of the survivors. The fight for power causes lots of stress for the other kids. There is a vote for a leader to settle the constant debate between Daley and Nathan.

I thought this was a great book. There was plenty always going on to keep me entertained and interested. I never got bored with it. there was not a whole lot of action though. A little bit of action may have made the story a little more interesting than it already was. I was actually wanting to read more of the book rather than set it down. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. This is a great book to keep you entertained for a while even though it is a little short.
