    The Beasties by William Sleator

I love this book for reluctant readers--- particularly boys. It has enough weirdness --(people about town who are missing body parts such as ears and noses) mystery and adventure to grab their attention.

Fake ID (Hunted) by Walter Sorrells
Fast paced and will grab reader's attention. It is definitely a YA book and adult reader's will need to suspend their disbelief. The female protagonist-- Chass (short for Chastity) is courageous and strong.
