Set in the Republic of Ireland, in a coastal village near Dublin, this tells the story of a modern day vampire and his son (hence the title). It's part horror, part teen romance and aimed at, according to the author, 'young adults'. Sadly, at 62, I'm no longer in that target readership - but I did enjoy it and finished it very quickly. The writing is good, better than I expected, and the story can get quite gripping. I wouldn't normally read modern vampire fiction, let alone teen fiction, but it was a free copy via Early Reviewers, and, as I say, I enjoyed it.
