The American revolution is definitely overly glorified, but the coming of age story is great, and I always remember the line, "Priscilla Tremain. Now that's a fine name."
I don't think this is a great book, but I loved it, especially "P-mail" (pigeon mail) and the wackier elements.
Mom loved this as a kid, and I didn't read it until I was an adult, but then I loved it, too--maybe more than I would have as a kid. Adds to my dog-envy!
Another favorite from childhood, which Mom passed to me (I passed it back when I found my own copy).
Favorite from childhood--glad that the right thing to do also turns out to be where Jane's heart takes her.
Loved, loved, loved this--started it in audio CD format during my GCPL commute, then it was Friday and I wasn't done, so Mark bought me the paperback--true love in action!
Discovered in AP bio, was truly hooked when I read Mr. Darcy's letter to Elizabeth, being a letter fan myself.
Moving anecdotes, but lacking organization.
An AWESOME book for participatory read-alouds, and just plain fun.
An interesting look at the true (?) impact of Christopher Columbus' voyages.
A poignant story of the lives of ordinary Germans during World War II--flawed but very human people.
Wonderful! Adult family drama, shows a family that can share great love despite massive hurts to each other.
