A great introduction to Stephen King for young readers, this well-written novel has all the King elements: great characters, great dialogue, and a compelling plot. Not gory.
Beautifully written novel about a boy with only one year left to live and the choices he makes. Crutcher tells the story without being maudlin, but if you're like me, you'll bawl like a baby by the inevitable end.
I love Pat Conroy's masterful use of the language. This heartbreaking story of a man's tortured relationship with his mother and the damage she inflicts on her children is filled with humor, suspense, and a deep love of coastal South Carolina. A must-read.
