A light-hearted and at times funny story. If you're in need of a break from more serious reading material I definitely recommend this book 😁
This one started out quite slowly but got more interesting as it went along and I ended up really enjoying it. Kate gets a mysterious inheritance from 130 years ago with conditions, she must publish a series of letters left to her that originated from the fairies. A non believer she thinks it will be harmless to share the letters and solve the mystery of what the inheritance is. The question is could fairies be real??
This book contained lots of Irish culture and folklore and was entertaining as well as informative.
What a beautiful story of intertwining timelines and love and loss. I powered through this in less than a day as I just couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Would 100% recommend this book!
I didn't really enjoy this book, however I didn't dislike it enough to want to stop reading it either. It drew me in, in a way I didn't expect. I wasn't really a fan of the way it was written in the first person as a response to an email Grace received so perhaps if it was written from another point of view I may have enjoyed it more? I also felt quite overwhelmed at times like there was just too much going on to really keep up with, alien life, parallel worlds or other planets, revisting memories using objects almost like time travel, mind reading, clairvoyance, environmental issues, Grace trying to work through her feelings about the past, there was a lot happening!
However I kept reading due to the mystery aspect of it, what did happen to Christina?? And what were these otherworldly forces??
I probably won't read anything else by this author but everyone can't like everything so I am sure there will be other people out there who will love this book.
A very well written story that makes you question the cause and effect that we normally experience in our lives as Henry's past, present and future all intertwine with one another. Is everything fate or can things be changed? Does he cause certain events to occur or would they have occurred regardless? Seeing the story from the perspective of both Henry and Clare made for an interesting read. The concept of visiting ones self whilst time travelling was interesting as well.
After reading 'The Women' I wanted to explore more of Kristin Hannah's writing and 'The Nightingale' definitely did not dissapoint me.
This book is set in France during WWII and highlights women's resilience and courage during times of war. Sharing the very different but courageous paths of two sisters and how they endured the hardships of war and still managed to find ways to make a difference to others.
A captivating story of a boy trying to escape from his past, in his "new life" as a man with a new identity can he ever really leave it behind??
"Women are human (a radical feminist idea, I know)"

This book tells many of Emer's experiences and experiments with the gender norms expected by society and trying to change them intertwined with research on the subject.
Frankly I found the research portions quite boring and skimmed over some of it.
I did however appreciate her honesty and ability to recognise the preconceived ideas she has adopted/been taught growing up and her attempts to change this. Refreshingly, she admits how hard this can be and to slipping up on occasion.
The book gives some good ideas for ways to experiment with bending and attempting to change gender norms yourself if you are inclined to do so. From growing out body hair to cross dressing to consciously omitting people's gender from conversations when discussing them and seeing others assumptions and reactions.
I found it an interesting read and she has obviously been on a quite a journey which she is brave enough to share with us all in this book.
A bewitching tale of estrangement, loneliness and the power of love.
I was immediately drawn into this story and captivated until the end.
I really felt for Mina and the loneliness she experienced. I also felt for the 'Witch' and the walls she had built around her heart to protect herself. I enjoyed reading the journey of them, both quite stubborn characters determined to have things "their way" but somehow still finding their way to one another.
A read I feel would have been more appreciated by a die hard Aerosmith fan.
Some interesting stories and a bit of insight into his life. I definitely had a few laughs and could empathise with some of his experiences and emotions.
The photo pages were amazing.
I did find some of it quite repetitive and it was hard to follow at times as he jumps from one story to another without much explanation.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, as someone who knows the feeling of starting over I was so happy Nina found her place in the world even if it was quite a bumpy ride. I can imagine the joy a van like this would bring into the community, more people loving books, yes please 😉
An amazingly written book detailing the service of women in the Vietnam war and the horrors that occur during war time that are often not accurately reported. This book also explored in great depth life after the war, including the attitudes of others towards returning veterans, the treatment and services available for men vs women and lasting effects of war such as mental health issues, cancer and fertility problems. As well as this, the book explores love and the fact that it doesn't always turn out as we hope for. This book was an excellent read that I found hard to put down.
A captivating story that really drew me in, I can't wait to see what happens next for Adelice, Erik and Jost. Hopefully I can get my hands on Book 2 soon 🙏
An amazingly written story of time travel that sheds light on the horrors of the past and delves into how although we can not change what has happened we can acknowledge it and try our best to make better choices going forward. Keep the tissues handy, there is sure to be tears 😢
If you are after a neat linear story then perhaps pass on this book.
Jumping between the points of view of different characters as well as different timelines it was challenging to follow at times, however, that descriptive writing, the kind that sends shivers down your spine and makes you feel as though you are actually witnessing the events described compelled me to keep reading. I must admit I did expect the lives of he characters to intertwine more, but it works, I did enjoy the way it was woven together in the end.
An easy read albeit with a somewhat confusing plot. Laura and her family return to her childhood home after her parents unexpected deaths to prepare it for sale and hopefully alleviate some of the financial pressure they are facing. She discovers that in recent times they have seemingly been haunted by ghosts, after some revelations this seems inaccurate... or is it?
What a fun read! A Were and Vampyre alliance turns romantic, Were-Human hybrids are revealed, Loyalties are tested, and there is the mystery of a missing best friend to solve. This book takes the reader on an ever evolving journey with plenty of twists and turns along the way. I look forward to reading the next instalment in the series.
This book is nothing special but somehow still engaging. Written in 2 parts it contains some interesting insight into post war immigration to Australia in part one, during the second part the author is trying to figure out the origin of paintings handed down her family line, while she seems to make some progress and establish theories these are never confirmed. Her trips back and forth between Australia and Amsterdam seem to give her comfort and she has the opportunity to explore her own family history and re-establish relationships with estranged family members.
Amazing well written, it actually feels like you are in Anna's head as you read this. The story captivates the reader from beginning to end and with its short daily entries it is easy to read. The twists keep you guessing, and while some I guessed early on, others were definitely surprise revelations.
**3.5 Stars**
An action packed adventure story full of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. Some great descriptions that really get you picturing what is happening as you read.
It was a great fun read perfect for in between more serious texts. Think 'Mills & Boon' but brought into the 21st century with dating apps. Lots I could resonate with.
A good read, not quite what I expected but was very interesting to get an insight into the realities of the medical profession
I got about halfway through this one before deciding I wouldn't continue. The concept was great and I was keen to see where it was headed at first but then it started to feel very repetitive.
I still feel like if I see the word "Quantum" in print again I may scream haha.
Thank you for the opportunity to read it, it is always interesting to explore different genres even if I do decide they are not for me.

I got 4 chapters in but sadly just couldn't get into this book. I appreciate being given the opportunity to read it and judging on other's reviews it's more me than the book itself. I will leave at a local book exchange so someone else can have the opportunity to read it.
