The outsiders is a book about the struggles between kids of separate social classes who deny their similarities but are in reality very alike. The story is being told by a kid named Ponyboy and he talks about his life and the life of a greaser, the group of rather poor kids he and his brothers associate with. He tells of the struggles of being a lower class citizen and imagines what it would be like to live like the Soc's, the socially elite gang of kids. It is a coming of age story where Ponyboy, his brothers and his crew come to realise through lose of their closest friends and tragedy that life is tough for everyone, not only greasers. They also come to realize that the Soc's and greasers are very similar, they are all human and face hardships and pressures in their life times. This is an amazing book that got me really involved into the story.
